Business Development Manager - Housing

The New Business Development Manager will lead Mexico´s Terwilliger Center program aiming at partnering with the private sector to make high quality housing more affordable for the low income population. This position will be responsible for identifying companies (typically small and medium size) which are developing new and innovative products and services for the social housing market, and will lead strategies and plans to facilitate the grow and success of these companies in their effort to reach the bottom of the pyramid market (low income customers)

To accomplish these objectives, the New Business Development Manager will:

-Establish relationships with multiple stakeholders related to the social housing ecosystem, such as public institutions, chambers, private companies, impact investment funds, accelerators, financial institutions, etc.
-Lead a team of Specialists and Consultants and promote a creative and out of the box thinking mentality in the group.
-Promote leverage of funding from multiple sources (co-investors, venture funds, multilaterals, corporations, etc.)
-Oversee market research efforts to identify consumer needs and preferences, market gaps, as well as innovative alternatives to close those gaps.
-Partner and exchange experiences with global team.

Business Development Manager qualifications:

A Master’s degree in a business-related discipline
A minimum of 5 years demonstrated leadership experience in multi-sectoral partnerships.
Understanding of the Mexican context in relation to social housing and construction is very nice to have.
Fluency in written and spoken English is a must.
Excellent analytical and report writing skills.
Demonstrated experience and knowledge in any of the following would be a plus: inclusive business, impact investing, consumer /social market research, customer centered design.

Assessing the quality assurance needs and gaps, developing and testing the tools and processes needed in coordination with Advise management teams, and analyzing and reporting on results, in order to continue quality-related innovation and improvement. The position will also project manage the implementation of at least one quality assurance workstream already under-way: the Enterprise Progression Framework. Lastly, the role will work with other regional champions to refine and develop tools to strengthen the impact of Advisory Services on gender issues and youth inclusion. Job Description
Purpose of the Position.
Lead the programmatic strategy and execution of project activities, with focus on WVG´s programmatic activities as Prime, as well as the relationship between the activities of all consortium members and the approach of key partners for the success of the project.

Main Responsabilities
Lead the work of the technical specialists that address the program activities, for the fulfillment of the objectives and goals, taking advantage of the lessons learned from WVG as Prime of the project and the implementing partners.
Ensure the coordination and complementarity of activities of all consortium members and project partners.
Ensure the achievement of activities and deliverables according to the annual work plans of the consortium members. Ensure the updating and implementation of the MEL (Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning) strategies and knowledge management of the project in collaboration with the MEL team.
Oversee the preparation of the reports required by the project, in English and Spanish.
Develop alliances with public-private entities, NGOs and FBOs.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Five years of proven professional experience in community development and international relations. Experience in leading multidisciplinary teams.
Fluent written and oral English and Spanish.
Writing and synthesis skills.
Interpretation and analysis of data and indicators.
Experience in evaluation and / or research.
Knowledge of the Guatemalan social, cultural, geographic and economic context, mainly of the rural area.
Good interpersonal relationships
