Job description:
The job of the Short Programs and Logistics Associate is to work in coordination with and assist the department director to produce and manage educational, awareness-raising, fundraising events, and programs throughout the year


The role of the associate is:
To assist the department director in the logistics, coordination and operation of short courses, tours, conferences and events; visits and internal Arava Institute logistics; budgeting and communications with program partners

Skills required:
• High attention to detail.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with ability for creative thinking and problem solving.
• Able to be both a team player and to work independently.
• Availability for work hours which are flexible and unconventional .
• English and Hebrew proficiency – spoken and written – required.
• Computer proficiency – Microsoft Office and Google Docs.
• Enthusiasm about the vision and the goals of the Arava Institute.
• Living in the vicinity of Kibbutz Ketura.
• Valid Israeli driver's license, preferred.
• Previous experience in logistics and/or event planning, preferred.
• Previous experience in budgeting and implementing budgets, preferred.

Senior Program Officer for Jewish Engagement
American Jewish World Service (AJWS)
The AJWS Advocacy and Jewish Engagement department envisions and executes all strategy toward a progressive foreign policy agenda that affirms and promotes human rights with U.S government stakeholders and institutions on behalf of our partners around the world. The work leans heavily on a national network of rabbis, cantors, and Jewish communal institutions who coalesce to play an essential role in advocating for justice and human rights in U.S. foreign policy.

The Senior Program Officer (SPO) is an integral member of the Jewish Engagement program, serving as thought partner to the Associate Director and implementer of the program’s strategic direction. The SPO will translate AJWS’s U.S. advocacy agenda into action, designing advocacy campaigns, lobbying efforts, digital actions, and other opportunities for AJWS clergy, high-level donors, and other grasstops leaders to speak out for change on global human rights issues.

The SPO will create opportunities to leverage the power and moral authority of these leaders to advocate to Congress, Executive branch offices, and Jewish communal institutions in support of policies that promote and empower the work of AJWS grantees. They will provide a broad range of support for AJWS’s signature Global Justice Fellowship clergy program (the GJF) and will also lead the Jewish Rohingya Justice Network (the JRJN), a prominent AJWS-led coalition of 35 organizations and all major branches of American Judaism that stand together against genocide. The SPO will also represent AJWS in other coalition spaces as needed. More generally, the SPO will mobilize targeted constituencies in the Jewish community around human rights issues in AJWS focus countries and U.S. policy related to these issues.

This position reports to the Associate Director of Jewish Engagement.

Policy Advisor, Sexual Health and Rights

The DC-based Policy Advisor is an integral part of the Advocacy team, working closely with the Sexual Health and Rights team, carrying out AJWS’s advocacy strategy to pursue U.S. foreign policies, spending, and diplomacy to advance the human rights of women and girls, LGBTQI+ people and sex workers. In supporting these communities, the Policy Advisor works with Congress, Executive Branch agencies and NGO coalitions on an array of sexual health and rights (SHR) issues, including reproductive justice, HIV/AIDS prevention, and diplomacy to support LGBTIQ+ rights. They also engage in strategic advocacy in partnership with allied advocacy networks to improve availability of US government funding aligned with our partners and their movement’s priorities. New Orleans Program Director

They are able to comfortably hold a range of logistical, emotional and educational responsibilities in order to ensure that the overall program runs smoothly and successfully.
The NOLA Program Director works with a national team of Service Corps Program Directors and with the Service Corps Program Operations staff. The NOLA Program Director reports to the National Service Corps Director (located in Chicago) and their fundraising work is guided by the Director of Individual Giving (located in Boston).
