Assistant or Associate Professor in Software Engineering

The Computer Science and Software Engineering Department at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Software Engineering faculty position at the Assistant or Associate Professor rank. Rank and salary are commensurate with qualifications and experience. Duties include teaching undergraduate and master's level courses, supporting and expanding curricular development in Software Engineering, pursuing research in this area, and providing service to the department, the university, and the community. A doctorate in Software Engineering, Computer Science or a closely related field is required.  All Software Engineering research areas are of interest. Candidates should display evidence of ability to teach applied Software Engineering topics such as modern industry practices, processes, tools, and technologies appropriate to professional software development, deployment, and maintenance.

Cal Poly emphasizes Learn by Doing (, which involves extensive lab work and projects in support of theoretical knowledge. Candidates must have a strong commitment to teaching excellence and laboratory-based instruction, dedication to continued professional development and scholarship, and a broad-based knowledge of Software Engineering and Computer Science.  Demonstrated ability in written and oral use of the English language is required.
