Under the authority and direct supervision of the Director of External Affairs, the incumbent will be responsible for the development and implementation of GCF’s communications strategy, including supervising media relations, public relations, and all communications products. S/he will also be responsible for the overall management of human and financial resources, planning and coordination of programs and plans of action in relation to the Communications Unit.

Partnerships and Outreach Specialist
Green Climate Fund
The Partnerships and Outreach Specialist will play a critical role in shaping the engagement strategies through which the Fund works with others to promote a unified global response to climate change. Through targeted outreach, advocacy and communication efforts, GCF engages with policy makers and opinion leaders, promotes an informed public debate on climate finance and works to achieve change based on the ideas and analysis set out in its mandate and work plans. Through these activities, the position will have a direct impact on GCF’s external relation goals. The Specialist will engage with key Partners and media, identifying opportunities to influence debates, shape and organize high-profile events, and provide support to outreach initiatives by Senior Management officials. The successful candidate will report to the Head of Partnerships and Outreach.

Associate Professional - Partnerships and Outreach
Green Climate Fund
The Associate Professional – Partnerships and Outreach will help shape the profile of the Fund with its key stakeholders. This will be done within the mandate given to the GCF by the Governing Instrument and through Board decisions and guidance. S/he will be instrumental in advancing the GCF external relations efforts by identifying opportunities for partnerships with key stakeholders (public and private, governmental and non-governmental), by conceiving outreach events or cooperation that will expose wider audiences to GCF issues and messages, and by developing initiative and products to inform stakeholders about the Fund. GCF’s main stakeholders include: The National Designated Authorities, the Accredited (or potentially accredited) Entities, UNFCCC focal points, GCF Board, staff and experts, GCF Observer Organizations, Contributors to GCF, civil society and private sector. The successful candidate will report to the Head of Partnerships and Outreach.

Ethics Senior Advisor
Green Climate Fund
The Ethics Senior Advisor contributes to the good governance of the Fund and assists the organization in maintaining the highest ethical standards. S/he is the highest authority at the Secretariat on ethical matters.
The Ethics Senior Advisor helps promote an ethical climate in the organization by offering resources and learning opportunities to staff members to ensure that they perform their functions with the highest standards of ethics as set out in the Fund’s Code of Conduct and other relevant policies. The Ethics Senior Advisor is responsible for four (4) areas of work: 1) Advocacy and Training on ethical conduct; 2) Provision of advice to staff on conflicts of interest; 3) Creating an avenue for staff to raise concerns prior to elevating them to the Independent Integrity Unit (IIU), if they so wish; 4) Promotion of an ethical culture within the organization.
The Ethics Officer will directly report to the Office of the Executive Director (OED), and will be independent of any official department, office, or entity of the Fund other than the Board and Ethics & Audit Committee. He/She will closely collaborate with the Secretariat’s Compliance Function and the Office of Human Resources.

Communication and Uptake Associate
Green Climate Fund
The GCF IEU is seeking to recruit a Junior Communication and Uptake Associate. The Associate will be responsible for supporting IEU’s communications and uptake strategy, in particular by supporting awareness, capacity building and communication needs of the Unit. The Associate will need to be proficient in two key things: on the language and communications side heshe will be proficient in writing and speaking and communicating with internal and external stakeholders as well as across different platforms. He/she will be a leader in state-of-the-art social media tools, communications techniques and strategic outreach. He/she should have superlative copy-editing skills to develop and disseminate key messages internally and externally of the Green Climate Fund. He/she will provide support to ensure that IEU’s communication strategy is state-of-the-art and multi-platform and speaks with a diversity of audiences while advocating for the need and use of high-quality credible evidence. On the advocacy and uptake side, he/she will be excellent in doing background relevant research that strengthens IEU’s internal and external strategic engagement. He/she will be adept in behavioral change strategies and communication campaign building and also undertake related research to strengthen IEU’s position in advocating for and ensuring the uptake of high-quality evidence for policy. He/she will recognize that use of evaluations is not just a function of high quality and timing but also knowing and engaging closely with a diverse set of stakeholders and building a coalition of support. Therefore, the Associate will support the team’s task to ensure IEU is using state-of-the-art methods to assure uptake and use of evaluative evidence using behavioral insights, transformational change and targeted communication techniques in this respect.
