PhD student in Cancer bioinformatics (m/f/d)
Dept. of Experimental Medicine I, FAU Erlangen-Nuremberg, Germany
More than 90% of cancer mortality is attributed to metastases, not the primary tumors from which these malignant lesions originate. The epithelial to mesenchymal transition (EMT) inducing transcription factor ZEB1 is a key regulator of the metastatic cascade and it is thus of great importance to dissect its mechanisms of action. In the proposed project, we aim to elucidate its function in the emerging field of enhancer mediated gene regulation.

Within this project, we are looking for a highly motivated PhD student with a strong interest in bioinformatics.

Your tasks will include the analysis of ChIP-seq and ATAC-seq datasets, the generation of chromatin state models and the identification of enhancer-gene connections. Prior experience in NGS data analyses as well as knowledge of Unix and the R/Bioconductor environment are advantageous.
