Long Term High School Counseling Sub (Part Time)

One of the high school counselors at our school is expecting her second baby, and we are so excited for her! We will be looking for a part time high school counseling sub, and there are opportunities to fill out your day subbing in other areas of our PS-12 campus if that is of interest. Undetermined how long the position will be, but the start date would be in August 2023. We are open to interns that need their final hours for their counseling degree. At Peru State College, the Director of Admissions serves as a part of a team of passionate, energetic educational leaders who are dedicated to transforming students’ lives. The Director of Admissions is a visionary leader with strong entrepreneurial, strategic, and analytical skills and the ability to lead a student-centered campus-wide market development and recruitment effort, working closely with internal and external constituents. The Director reports to the Vice President for Enrollment Management and works with a variety of internal and external constituencies to create and implement differentiated and highly personalized recruitment and marketing plans, taking full advantage of available technologies and resourceful personnel to maximize enrollment. The director develops plans that target multiple and diverse audiences, including high school, low-income, first generation, out of state, early entry, honors, homeschooled, international, transfer, and others. The director provides leadership and guidance to a team of highly motivated and collaborative admissions professionals. The Director will implement a comprehensive recruitment approach, which creates and executes plans and approaches to proactively engage and yield potential students. By overseeing the utilization of our customer relationship management system and other communication methods, the director will ensure students experience engaging communication. Additionally, the director will monitor, evaluate, and present data on admission measures and initiatives to strengthen data-driven decision-making and refine processes.

Admissions Counselor
Peru State College
The purpose of the Admissions Counselor to recruit qualified students and to serve as a liaison between Peru State’s external market and the services that are available through Peru State. The external market includes prospective students of all ages and academic backgrounds. Also included are those who influence a student’s decision to attend Peru State such as high school counselors and teachers, alumni, family, friends, community members, and others. This position will focus on freshman recruitment with an assigned recruitment territory in Nebraska and Iowa. Work in that territory includes planning and conducting high school visits; meeting with students, parents, and school counselors; representing Peru State at various college/day/night programs; and extensive follow up with prospective students and their families. Follow-up will be done via email, phone calls, virtual appointment (Zoom or Teams) as well as texting. This position will assist with campus visits and on campus recruitment events. Counselors will review student financial aid award letters including scholarship and all forms of financial aid with admitted students and parents. As a part of student recruitment, this position will help enhance the college’s social media presence.
