Seasonal Laborer - Parks and Cemeteries
City of St. Joseph
The City of St. Joseph is currently accepting applications for the position of Seasonal Laborer in the Parks and Cemetery Division of Public Works. Under the supervision of the Parks Foreman and Parks Director, performs routine maintenance and developmental tasks within a particular park or cemetery site. Duties may include Parks Laborer, Cemetery Laborer, Downtown Laborer or Park Ranger. Applicants are required to have a valid Michigan Driver’s license with a safe driving record, must be able to work various hours, weekends and holidays. Athletic Field Groundskeeper
City of St. Joseph
The City of St. Joseph is currently accepting applications for the position of Athletic Field Groundskeeper. Under the supervision of the Recreation Manager and Parks Foreman, performs skilled and semi-skilled labor in the various aspects of Athletic Field Maintenance including turf and skinned area maintenance, and related service activities for the City’s parks. Directly participate in the daily maintenance and preparation of all playing surfaces in preparation for scheduled games and practices. Experience, special skills, knowledge, and abilities to maintain athletic fields is desired. Applicants are required to be 18 and have a valid Michigan Driver’s license with a safe driving record, must be able to work various hours, weekends and holidays. Natural Resource Internship
Brownsburg Parks
The intern will work a 12-16 week schedule and be able to experience all aspects of natural resource management by being included in planning and development of projects and daily maintenance of the parks natural resources.
This will enable the student to get a well-rounded experience in all facets of operation.
The intern will also have a special project to plan and develop during the Internship. This project will be evaluated by professional staff and be presented to the Park Board at the end of the program.
The intern will work an average of 40 hours per week including some weekends and evenings. Dependent upon availability and school curriculum to qualify for course credit.
Normal hours will be from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm
