The University of North Carolina at Greensboro is accepting applications for a full-time, 12-month Staff Counselor/Staff Social Worker position in The Counseling Center, a unit of Student Health Services. Primary Duties: Group counseling and/or workshops to address students’ mental and emotional health needs. Short term individual counseling and/or psychotherapy in the areas of personal and educational difficulties, social conflicts, significant adjustment problems, and mental and emotional disorders, including initial assessments and crisis intervention. Diagnose and treat mental and emotional disorders. Appropriate clinical collaboration, consultation and documentation. Clinical Consultation and Outreach Programs that address developmental issues of students, as well as mental and emotional needs of students. Training of practicum/intern graduate students

Required Qualifications:
• Completion of appropriate course work and supervised training as required by a graduate counseling or clinical social work curriculum.
• An earned Master of Social Work or Master of Counseling degree.
• A license is required to allow the independent practice of Counseling (Licensed Professional Counselor) or Social Work (Licensed Clinical Social Worker).
• Demonstrate proficiency in and a commitment to multicultural competence and experience working with individuals from culturally diverse populations, as well as underrepresented and/or underserved populations.
• Demonstrated understanding and clinical application of the intersectionality of identity and mental health.
• Demonstrate proficiency with the DSM-5.
• Ability to work effectively with young adults.
• Strong interpersonal skills.

Strongly Preferred:
• Counseling experience in a college counseling center.
• Experience/expertise in working with communities of color and/or issues of intersectionality.
• Ability to engage therapeutically in Spanish and English.

Works closely with and supports the institutional needs of the President, Vice President for Academic Affairs, Associate Provosts, Vice Presidents, and other senior administrators in coordinating and using assessment results to support the strategic planning, decision making and institutional performance measures of the University
Collaborates with internal and external partners to ensure that the University’s needs for correct and consistent data are met
Oversees implementation and maintenance of the University’s Institutional Assessment Plan
Leads and oversees academic and institutional data systems and reporting
Provides guidance and advice on the University’s educational effectiveness system and strategies to enhance evidence-based decision-making
Maintains current knowledge of techniques, federal reporting changes, and standards of institutional research and assessment
Oversees the collection and review of annual assessment reports from all academic units and prepares the Academic Affairs Annual Assessment Report

Attorney

Provide legal advice, information and referral services to UT Austin students to guide students in resolving their individual legal concerns. The attorney will also speak to academic classes and student organizations on legal topics.

Meet with students for counseling and problem-solving of legal matters, provide resources and assistance with document preparation, and referral to outside attorneys when appropriate.
Work with the Director of Student Emergency Services to develop a budget, conduct assessment, and maintain legal resource information for website and printed material.
