Informaticist (FHIR Expert)

Summary: This role will be a key component in the clinical informatics department, which consists of a group of professionals with diverse backgrounds, but all passionate about data interoperability among electronic data sources. In this role, you will serve as the subject matter expert to support our FHIR solution development, and to write development requirements related to the FHIR specification and its interaction with our data model and architecture. In addition, you will closely follow the industry trends of FHIR, bringing insights to guide our development efforts, and share our experience with the broader FHIR /HL7 community.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
2+ years of clinical informatics working experience
Experience of participating in HL7 FHIR (Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources) related committee or workgroups
Experience of being the subject matter expert and making key decisions for software development team
2+ years of hands-on experience with clinical data is a strong plus but not required
Advanced understanding of C-CDA is a strong plus but not required
Ability to understand and convey complex concepts in simple terms
Experience with healthcare information technology or data analytics is a plus but not required
Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process is a plus but not required
B.S. in information technology, data science or related field is a plus but not required

Project Director, Data Science

Under the direction of the department leadership, manage the ongoing activities related to performance measurement data use including but not limited to maintaining databases and ensuring that their data are reliable. Coordinate specific performance measure development activities to enhance the reliability and validity of data. Manage the data requirement process including supporting the analysis of performance measurement data used in analytics, as well as the routine refresh of data sets. This role embraces the concept of data wrangling, which is the process of cleaning and unifying messy and complex data sets for easy access and analysis. This role provides statistical analysis for of complex data sets for use in dashboards, reports, and publications. Mentor staff in activities promoting the integration of performance measure data use.

In-House Legal Counsel
The Sequoia Project
The In-House Counsel advises on legal and regulatory issues related to the development and implementation of Sequoia’s business strategy, governance and compliance policies, data privacy and security, and general business matters. This role will serve a dual purpose of functioning as in-house counsel and as the lead on trust agreements related to policies and governance for health information exchange programs supported by The Sequoia Project and Carequality. This includes, but is not limited
to, the trusted exchange framework and common agreement (TEFCA). This role will also advise regarding legal implications of CMS interoperability regulations, information blocking rules, and public policy related to interoperable exchange of health information in consultation with the Director of Policy. This individual will work with outside counsel in support of Sequoia and its portfolio of programs and services.
