Scottish Rite for Children is seeking applicants for a Movement Science Lab (MSL) Biomechanist on its Dallas campus. The successful candidate will participate in all aspects of patient testing, including assisting with instrumented gait analysis, strength assessments and metabolic evaluations. Primary responsibilities will also include engaging in the clinical activities of the lab, attending case review sessions and assisting in the execution and analysis of ongoing research investigations. The MSL Biomechanist will participate in the submission and presentation of scientific research, process and reduce data, and deliver high quality, valid data to principal investigators, physicians, fellows and senior MSL staff.

Applicants should have a demonstrated interest in human movement, excellent organizational skills, a background in research and motion capture experience. Software expertise with Vicon systems and experience working with children is favorable. A Bachelor’s degree in exercise science, kinesiology or biomechanics is required. A Master’s degree, with research experience, is preferred.

Scottish Rite for Children is a world-renowned leader in the treatment of orthopedic conditions such as scoliosis, clubfoot, hand differences, hip disorders, sports injuries and fractures, as well as certain related arthritic and neurological disorders and learning disorders, such as dyslexia The MSL currently has over two dozen active research protocols, as well as provides a clinical service to our institution’s orthopedists and neurologists. The laboratory is equipped with a VICON motion capture system, AMTI force platforms, a Novel EMED platform, Cosmed K5 O2 system, Biodex System for strength testing, Motion Analysis Lab EMG system, Delsys EMG/IMU System, and multiple wearable sensors for real-world activity monitoring

Scottish Rite for Children is seeking applicants for a Movement Science Lab (MSL) Physical Therapist on its Dallas campus. The successful candidate will engage in all clinical activities of the laboratory including performing physical examinations, instrumenting patients for 3D motion capture; processing motion analysis data, preparing reports, and actively participating in case review sessions. In addition, the MSL PT will lead clinical examination in-services and competency testing for all applicable MSL staff and serve as a co-investigator/lead for research investigations involving human movement and performance, actively participate in scientific dissemination including presentations and abstract and manuscript writing. Applicants must hold a current physical therapy license (State of Texas required). The successful candidate will have worked in a practice treating pediatric orthopedic and/or neurological populations and have experience with motion analysis and clinical research. Postdoctoral researcher in machine learning for healthcare
University of Oxford
We are looking for a health data scientist to conduct reproducible machine learning analyses of time-series wearable sensor data. It is expected that the methods developed will have wider applicability within the fields of reproducible machine learning, time-series analysis, health data science, and cardiometabolic medicine.

You will be an integral member of the wearables group based at Oxford, led by Aiden Doherty. You will also become a member of the Computational Health Informatics Lab led by Professor David Clifton at the Institute of Biomedical Engineering. There will be exciting opportunities to translate your research beyond academia, where you will also have the opportunity to closely collaborate with the genetics team led by Joanna Howson at the Novo Nordisk Research Centre Oxford.
