Machine Learning Postdoc openings in NingLab, OSU

Staff Fellow - Patient Monitoring Systems

The Advanced Patient Monitoring and Control Lab, Division of Biomedical Physics in the FDA’s Center for Devices and Radiological Health (CDRH), Office of Science and Engineering Laboratories (OSEL) has an opening in Silver Spring, MD for a full-time staff scientist / engineer with a strong background in patient monitoring systems including medical device alarm algorithms. The position involves laboratory and computational research, regulatory consulting support of new and emerging medical devices, analyses of failures with existing devices, and outreach to the medical device patient monitoring and alarm community. Experience in one or more of the following areas is desirable: analysis of physiologic and health information datasets to test patient monitoring algorithms; design and evaluation of predictive algorithms; artificial intelligence and machine learning applied to physiologic and medical time-series data; statistical signal processing of physiologic signals; medical device alarm system designs; physiologic sensors and acquisition systems; interoperable patient monitoring systems; model-based design applied to patient monitoring systems. Candidates with experience and/or knowledge of clinical workflows are encouraged to apply. Applicants must possess an M.S. and/or Ph.D. or equivalent degree in engineering or a related scientific field. Excellent speaking and writing skills are required.
The position involves approximately 70% laboratory and computational research, and 30% policy or consulting support for reviews of new medical devices and analysis of device failures.
