Post-doc position : Observation and characterization of 3D deformation of soft tissue organs with ultra-fast MRI.
LIS UMR CNRS7020
The research is focused on developing a novel medical analysis technique to improve healthcare of patient living with pelvic floor disorders. These diseases lead to mechanical dysfunction of the pelvic organs support structures. To enhance the understanding, we advocate a process to observe the main organs over time in 3D by developing a MRI acquisition sequence associated with a volume reconstruction adapted to the visualization of organ movement in 3D. The postdoctoral researcher will develop methods and tools related to volume modelling from ultra-fast multi-planar MRI. Visualization of deformations and motions of those organs is a first. Besides, mathematical features will be proposed to provide quantitative analysis and evaluation of the reconstructed volume surfaces.
The postdoctoral position will take place in Marseille at the “laboratoire d’informatique et des systèmes“ (LIS) - St Jérôme Faculty. The LIS brings together more than 375 members: 190 researchers, more than 165 doctoral and post-doctoral students and 20 IT/IATSS. Research focuses on fundamental and applied activities in the fields of computing, automation, signal and image. The postdoctoral researcher will have to move to the Timone University Hospital site occasionally in order to participate to MRI acquisitions and setting at CRMBM and to collaborate with the practitioners involved. With a multidisciplinary staff of 80 basic scientists, engineers and clinicians, the CRMBM is one of the largest biomedical MR centres in Europe and a national research facility for preclinical and clinical MR imaging. It is backed by CEMEREM, which is the MRI platform with 1.5T, 3T and 7T imagers among others.

Postdoctoral fellow
University of Iowa
The goal of the project is to develop highly accelerated high resolution diffusion MRI techniques and its validation in micro-structural studies. Diffusion MRI methods are highly sensitive to detect microstructural changes in tissues. However, its deployment in the early diagnosis of neurological disorders require that microstructural changes can be measured robustly using biophysical models that provide specific details about the microstructure changes. The goal is to develop a highly accelerated methods that samples multiple shells at high resolution. Joint under-sampling of the combined diffusion and spatial domains will be pursed in conjunction with joint reconstruction methods. The postdoctoral researcher will work on reconstruction and analysis methods that will validate the proposed acquisition. The post-doctoral fellow will work at the Magnetic Resonance Research Facility at the University of Iowa. Post-doc: modeling gene regulation networks in a multi-cellular context during seed maturation
INRA
Seed maturation is a key developmental phase during which seeds accumulate storage products and progressively acquire resistance to dessication. This phase is controlled by a few master genes (the “AFL” genes) that exhibit specific spatio-temporal expression patterns at the tissue scale. Through a computational modeling approach, the project aims at deciphering the determinants and regulations underlying these patterns. Based on bibliographical and transcriptomic data already available on wild-type and mutant genotypes in the model plant Arabidopsis thaliana, the candidate will be in charge of designing, implementing and analyzing multi-cellular computational models of the master gene regulation network.
