Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential duties and responsibilities of this position are to consumers on the behaviors consultant’s caseload, to customer companies, to other members of consumers’ ISTs and to DDSi. These include but are not limited to the following:

Consumers

To provide interventions that improve quality of life
To recommend interventions that use the least restrictive, effective procedures
To revise interventions as necessary to address changes in consumer needs and preferences
To assist in management of medications and medical conditions
As necessary attends psychiatry appointments to discuss behavior control medication issues.
Develops recommendations for behavior-control medication titration plans and applies it to the analysis of behavior progress.
To be fully aware of the consumer’s recorded history
To establish positive working relationships with each consumer on the caseload
To be reasonably and responsibly available to consumers to assist them through periods of crisis
Other duties as necessary.

Customer Companies

To routinely inquire about priorities for interventions and to alter workload priorities when necessary to address changing customer priorities
To assure compliance of work products with licensing and certification requirements as applied to the customer company
To recommend interventions that are cost effective as well as clinically effective
To forge positive, working relationships with key members of the direct-care and management staff of the company
To provide reliable means of contact during emergencies

To function as the content expert for behavior supports information and as the primary source for optimal solutions to consumer behavior problems.

2021 CAN-Do Camp Coach

Camp Coaches will go through an intensive training process prior to the 2021 CAN-Do Camp [HOME EDITION] to learn about the neuroscience of autism (and other neurodiversities), why presuming competence is the least dangerous assumption, the sensory and motor differences of autism, successful sensory-motor strategies for regulation and communication, purposeful movement vs motor loops, etc. This camp is for K-12 and young adult campers with complex communication and motor challenges. Camp Coaches will provide 1:1 support to campers, parents, caregivers, and communication partners during this unique virtual camp experience that pairs camp participation with real-time support training in the home (or virtually).
Camp is offered for 6 themed weeks during June and July. Camp Coaches should have completed at least two years of college, be responsible and passionate about learning, be confident and posses self-regulation skills, and be dedicated to a team approach.
