Coach/support bilingual teachers in utilizing second language acquisition instructional stra... tegies in the classrooms to ensure that English Language Learners and immigrant students attain English language proficiency and meet the state’s challenging academic achievement standards. Carry out highly focused, innovative, locally designed activities to expand or enhance existing language instruction programs and academic content instruction. Work with campus leadership to provide targeted Academics in the Second Language implementation support to bilingual teachers. Work with Middle and High School ESOL teachers to implement a comprehensive plan to develop, maintain, and effectively utilize Individual Educational Learning Plans for 7 – 12 ESOL students. Utilize multiple student assessment measures to inform instructional intervention strategies.

The coach evaluates resources that support student learning, provides professional development relevant to language development for teachers and administrators, and provides feedback to teachers, students, parents, and administration regarding student progress, expectations, and district goals. The District Instructional Coach for Bilingual analyzes state and district data to measure student progress and provide targeted support to teachers, to analyze curriculum, and to lead instructional changes to improve student learning.
