We are looking for an associate to work on a 6-month development project in the field of sports technology. This is a collaboration between St Mary’s University, Twickenham, UK and NURVV Ltd. The associate will play a central role in developing and testing a new addition to NURVV’s current wearable technology product line. Development and testing activities will involve optimising the output of wearable sensors, through algorithm development and signal processing, to provide performance measures for jumping and hopping movements.

Job description
Vicon is the world leader in motion capture technology, developing high performance software and hardware products for the entertainment, engineering, and life science industries.
Responsibilities
Reporting to the Test Manager, the Software Test Engineer - Biomechanics will contribute by helping to measure the accuracy and validity of highly complex motion capture systems we develop, using a range of manual and automated approaches.
This person will either be a skilled and experienced Test Engineer with an interest in human movement and/or a biomechanist who lives to test kinematics.
You will have significant opportunities to drive technical direction, and the potential to provide leadership and insight into what constitutes robust, accurate and functional motion tracking. We have large custom-built Test Volumes in which to test all our products, and you will sometimes need to act as a motion capture subject during testing, as well as maintaining the equipment in the test space.
You should be able to work autonomously and deliver in-line with the product plans whilst working collaboratively with the wider team environment. We offer a hybrid on-site/home-based working environment.
Qualifications
• A PhD in Biomechanics or MSc with relevant academic experience as a biomechanist or sport scientist
and/or
• A minimum of 10 years as a Software Test Engineer, with a background in software and hardware projects, preferably human motion tracking
Experience
• Experience, aptitude, and a desire to work with human motion capture, sport, animation tools and techniques
• Relevant conference, journal or other peer-reviewed output
• The right to work and reside in the UK
• Highly motivated and self-driven
• A positive attitude with strong organisational and time management skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including fluency in written and spoken English

Product Marketing Manager

The Product Marketing Manager reports directly into the Global Marketing Manager and works closely with the Product Managers.
Responsibilities
Development of product propositions which include unique selling points and marketing messages that set the product apart from the rest in the market
Development of marketing strategies targeted at specific markets and their unique challenges
Creation of on-brand and on-message marketing and sales enablement content
Communicating the vision and value of new products to the marketing team and briefing agency partners, helping them develop assets that facilitate the launch and sales process
Being the product technical expert for the internal marketing team and agency partners and checking materials for accuracy
Perform market research around new product launches to better articulate their value propositions and how they stound out compared to the competition
Be the voice of Product in the planning and execution of conferences, exhibitions and events and help coordinate the product elements and demonstrations involved
Have a direct input into the branding and naming of new products
Agree and manage marketing launch schedules around the release of new products
Help plan and participate in product launch events (internal, distributor and external)
Performing surveys, interviews and focus groups and attending user groups to obtain insights about the customer’s product usage to help develop and maintain accurate and up-to-date buyer personas
Measurement of the impact of marketing work and the ability to present this information to management
Be the marketing evangelist to the Product Management team and provide the PM team with considered consultancy on marketing strategy.
