The successful candidate will have solid knowledge in data synthesis, manipulation, and analysis as well as descriptive, inferential analysis of large datasets, and the use of these tools using multiple programming platforms. Application of these tools span a broad array of geoscience areas, including land surface modeling from surface runoff to evapotranspiration to ecosystem assessments; land-use change from energy development or urbanization; and water resource sustainability. The candidate is also expected to have some field data collection skills and willingness to travel to (sometimes) remote sites.

To study that our porous media visualization (PMV) lab in the Techni... on is replacing the soil and rock with an equivalent transparent porous material developed in the lab. The transparent porous material allows direct quantification of the following processes occurring in soil and rock: transport in porous media, reaction rates of chemicals during transport, displacement of resident phase in the porous media by a miscible or immiscible phase, and deformation of the porous material during the transport.
Technion We are looking for a researcher interested in the physics of flow, reaction, and deformation in soil and rock. The transparent porous material allows direct quantification of the following processes occurring in soil and rock: transport in porous media, reaction rates of chemicals during transport, displacement of resident phase in the porous media by a miscible or immiscible phase, and deformation of the porous material during the transport. We need someone with advanced microscopy experience (confocal and regular) to do the quantification and building in-house light-sheet microscopy coupled with an ultra-high-speed camera with 24K frames per second. An experience in image analysis and numerical modeling is also required.
