Postdoctoral Research Position
University of Warwick As the university of Warwick (UK), we are looking for a research associate with experience in experimental fluid dynamics. Click the link for further information.
Post-doc: wetting and dewetting of salt solutions in nanoporous media
CNRS Post-doc (1.5 years, extensible) on the study of wetting and dewetting in nanoporous media by various experimental techniques (optical, interferometry, holography, electrical measurements, ellipsometry, X-Ray, etc.). Start date Summer or Fall 2021. Application deadline: June 9th. See link for more details.
Pending Recruitment: Geologic/Hydrologic Data Analyst (Research Scientist Associate IV)
Bureau of Economic Geology, University of Texas at Austin Job Description: The University of Texas at Austin, Bureau of Economic Geology, is seeking a highly motivated research scientist associate to collaborate on research in areas of the water/energy/land nexus, GIS, hydrology, soil science, and remote sensing. The Bureau currently has ongoing projects that require talent and familiarity in digital tools that are now essential for research (e.g., python/Matlab scripting, Google Earth Engine, or other cloud computing applications). Numerous proposals are under consideration for future research. The successful candidate will have solid knowledge in data synthesis, manipulation, and analysis as well as descriptive, inferential analysis of large datasets, and the use of these tools using multiple programming platforms. Application of these tools span a broad array of geoscience areas, including land surface modeling from surface runoff to evapotranspiration to ecosystem assessments; land-use change from energy development or urbanization; and water resource sustainability. The candidate is also expected to have some field data collection skills and willingness to travel to (sometimes) remote sites.
Postdoc at the University of Utah
University of Utah Integrated Multi-Physics Laboratory is looking for a passionate and motivated postdoc with a strong background in understanding nanomechanics of porous media using LAMMPS to join a DOE-funded project. Please send your CV furnished with a cover letter and two published papers to firstname.lastname@example.org. At the IMP Lab, we are committed to having a JEDI (Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion) lab.
Postdoctoral position in experimental microfluidics
University of Manchester Dear Colleagues, We are looking for a Research Associate in experimental bio-microfluidics to join a larger on-going project on blood rheology and transport in the human placenta. Please see more details on https://www.jobs.manchester.ac.uk/displayjob.aspx?jobid=20138 I would be very grateful if you could pass this advert on to potential candidates. Application deadline: 9th June.
Technion We are looking for a researcher interested in the physics of flow, reaction, and deformation in soil and rock. To study that our porous media visualization (PMV) lab in the Technion is replacing the soil and rock with an equivalent transparent porous material developed in the lab. The transparent porous material allows direct quantification of the following processes occurring in soil and rock: transport in porous media, reaction rates of chemicals during transport, displacement of resident phase in the porous media by a miscible or immiscible phase, and deformation of the porous material during the transport.

We need someone with advanced microscopy experience (confocal and regular) to do the quantification and building in-house light-sheet microscopy coupled with an ultra-high-speed camera with 24K frames per second. An experience in image analysis and numerical modeling is also required.
PhD and postdoc positions in Bergen
University of Bergen Over the next 12 months we will announced PhD and postdoc positions at the University of Bergen related to my ERC project "Mathematical and Numerical Modelling of Process-Structure Interaction in Fractured Geothermal Systems" and the Center for Modeling of Coupled Subsurface Dynamics. We will mainly be seeking candidates with a background in applied and computational mathematics, and experience with geoscience applications (flow and mechanics) is an advantage. If you are interested send, me an e-mail, and I will inform you about possibilities and planned announcements.
PhD position at Penn State University
The Pennsylvania State University, University Park In the next 6-12 months, I will be hiring a PhD student with a focus on computational mechanics at the pore scale. The position requires strong mathematical skills and coding background. If interested, please send me an email so I can get in touch with you at the time of hiring. In your email, include a current CV, recent publications, and a short personal statement outlining your fit.
