Post Doc: CMOS Design of Low-Power Wake-Up Receiver for IoT
Telecom Paristech
Opening: The department of Electronics and Communications at Telecom ParisTech has an opening for a postdoc position with a EE background. The candidate is expected to lead the development of a novel wake-up receiver suitable for IoT applications. The key feature of this receiver is its adaptability which allows it to operate at very low power without compromising detectability.

Current status and expected work: Over the last few years we have proposed a modular detection algorithm for a wake-up receiver and proved its optimality in terms of error rate, delay, and power consumption. This algorithm was then simulated using high level electrical simulations. Results were very encouraging as we obtained energy gains of about 50% compared to state-of-the-art solutions. The objective of this project is to push this work to its final state and implement the algorithm at the electrical level using an advanced CMOS process. Collaborations with leading semiconductor
companies are expected.

Work description:
1. Study the proposed algorithm.
2. Choose an architecture to implement the algorithm and fine tune its main specifications,
e.g., central frequency, sensitivity, message length range.
3. Design and simulate the main blocks of the architecture in an advanced CMOS process.

Required skills:
1. CMOS analog design
2. Signal Processing
3. Fluent in English

start date: fall 2019

Multiple Postdoc and PhD positions
National Tsing Hua University
Dear friends,

We received continued funding from the Semiconductor Moonshot Project, supported by the Ministry of Science and Technology, Taiwan. Our goal is to develop neuromorphic intelligent vision SoC. A short introduction of the Moonshot project can be found at http://ms.ee.nchu.edu.tw/en_index.html. We target to explore new architecture of AI hardware as well as processing in devices to achieve high performance for real applications. We are closely related with industry located in the famous Hsinchu Science Park (when TMSC, MediaTek, and many hi-tech companies are located…)

We have several exciting postdoctoral research fellowships and PhD Scholarship opportunities in DNN accelerator, neuromorphic computing, spiking neural network, etc.
We are looking for highly motivated and passionate candidates to join our Embedded, Neuromorphic, and Integrated AI Chips (ENIAC) team. We have resources to tapeout from the most advanced TSMC technologies so do not miss this opportunity!

I am deeply appreciated if you could share this information with colleagues and students who might be interested. If there’s any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me (kttang@ee.nthu.edu.tw) directly. We can also meet at ISCAS onsite!

Best regards,
Samuel
