Research Assistant (Ph.D. Position) in Augmented Reality
Ilmenau University of Technology The Virtual Worlds and Digital Games Lab at the Ilmenau University of Technology (TU Ilmenau), Germany, is seeking a research assistant for supporting our team in a recently started new joint research project. The goal of the project is to create a collaborative VR/AR environment that enables distributed users to share a common experience of a location through interactive experience and design of the content in situ. For expanding our team we are looking for a colleague holding at least a master’s degree (or equivalent) in computer science, visual computing, or a comparable area. As a candidate you have experience in software development – in particular in object-oriented programming. Research Internships for PhD and masters students
Snap Inc. (Snapchat) Looking for graduate students interested in developing new social and playful AR experiences that bring close friends and family even closer, when they are apart and in-person. We're particularly interested in doing research on co-located AR experiences that are playful and bring friends and family together when they're in person.
Some questions for you:
1. Could you think of a specific project on co-located AR that you might be interested to work on? Imagine you're writing an abstract about it, what would it say?
2. If you have to pick, would you prefer to focus on building new software or on studying how people use it?
3. Also, we like to know what interns want to get out of their internship to best help them achieve their goals. Virtual Intern Positions
Empathic Computing Laboratory The Empathic Computing Laboratory (ECL) at the University of Auckland and the University of South Australia is offering three to six month virtual internships starting in January 2021. This program is designed for undergraduate and post-graduate student who would like to work on AR/VR research projects with staff and students of the ECL, while staying in their home countries.
