Our Special Education teachers provide year-round instruction to children with low and high incidence disabilities (autism, sensory impairment, moderate to severe developmental and behavior problems) in self-contained classroom. Students at Heartspring range in age from 5 – 21 years old. Classrooms are assigned by age and functional ability.
Our teachers design and implement Individual Education Programs to meet each student’s specific needs. We offer small class sizes and high staff/student ratios with collaborative team support of medical, psychology and therapy support services provided based on individual student need.
Requires a degree in Special Education and Kansas K-12 certification. Prefer MS with experience in multiple disabilities. Adaptive and Functional Endorsements also preferred. Will consider 6-12 and other certifications if willing to obtain necessary coursework while employed.
