Multiple Postdoctoral positions on Learning Analytics at Kyoto University, Japan
Kyoto University The postdoc researchers will work at Ogata Laboratory at ACCMS, Yoshida Campus at Kyoto University, and will be set the research questions with collaboration with Prof. Hiroaki Og... ata, and will play a key role in the following projects, for example: 1. Developing a smart learning analytics platform including user modeling, knowledge model, contents model, prediction model, and personalized dashboard. 2. Creating and evaluating intelligent tools that enhance learning and education inside and outside classrooms by analyzing educational big data. 3. Enhancing student wellness and mental health as well as learning by capturing, analyzing, monitoring, evaluating physical and learning activities.
Requirements: A PhD degree in a relevant academic subject area such as information systems or data science Solid background and skills in software design and machine learning (e.g. Python) Specific expertise that is relevant for the job title would add to the candidate’s fitness, e.g. user experience engineering, web services, data processing, educational technologies Creativity, self-management skills and cooperation skills Excellent academic writing and presentation skills An excellent command of spoken and written English
Terms start as soon as possible and will end at the end of March 2029 at longest. (evaluated and contracted in each year)

Postdoc and pilot manager (part time)
Your mission
EPFL has just launched the Lighthouse evidence-oriented initiative to investigate the benefits of selected EdTech solutions through 1-year pilots carried out in public schools. This initiative is led by board members of the LEARN Center at EPFL and the Swiss EdTech Collider.
We look for a postdoctoral researcher to manage the techno-pedagogical co-design and the implementation of the pilots, as well as to supervise the evidence-oriented investigations. The actual investigations will be carried out jointly between selected EdTech startups, Swiss academic institutions, and public schools on a competitive basis after a targeted matchmaking phase.
Your profile: PhD in learning technologies; Interests for EdTech solutions and entrepreneurship; Very good participatory and learning design skills; Experience in translational research with multiple stakeholders (entrepreneurs, scientists and educators); English is the working language but mastery of French or German would be an asset.
