We are seeking an individual with the passion required to assist our students in accessing the education resources and support that is offered by the Nation. The Education Coordinator position is a multi-faceted and student engaged position focused on helping and growing success in education for our youth and young adults. Working in cooperation with colleagues, students, parents, and external partners, this position is responsible for the consolidated planning and reporting of regular Education activities, and development, planning, implementing, administering and evaluating a variety of education initiatives for Takla Nation.

Responsibilities:

Working collaboratively with your line manager to prepare a work plan that outlines your daily, weekly, monthly, semi-annually and annual plans for the education portfolio.
Responsible for maintaining a digitized filing system for the education portfolio that will incorporate all student files
Identify and address any gaps in the education files and provide recommendations to your Line Manager for approval
Responsible for the evaluation of current education programs and services (with collaboration from your Line Manager)
Working collaboratively with your Line Manager to adequately prepare for the compliance review audits from INAC for academic/ fiscal years
Complete and submit annual Nominal Roll Report, track and manage Compliance Review Audits as required; with principal and Line Manager
Responsible for identifying and assisting in applications funding grants for the Education Department;
Liaise and communicate with INAC, FNESC, and other government agencies regarding Takla students and programs as required;
Prepare and present reports to Chief and Council, and community, as required;
Provide budget support to the Line Manager or GM-O as required;
Liaise between Education Department and the school districts as required;
Monitor and report on attendance of Takla Nation students within the School Districts
