Nestled in the heart of Medway, Massachusetts, on town-leased land, Medway Community Farm (MCF) spans 7 acres of tillage, several acres of pristine forested and protected habitat along the Chicken Brook.
This seasonal position is anticipated to commence in mid to late February and conclude in late November. The ideal candidate will bring a solid background in seed production, crop rotation, and harvesting. More than just a set of skills, we are seeking an individual with a passion for community and a dedication to furthering MCF's growth in alignment with the Farm Manager and Board of Directors' vision.
In this role, you will play a crucial part in documenting and overseeing the farm's field crops, CSA and Farm Stand operations. Additionally, you'll collaborate with both large and small volunteer groups throughout the season. Delivery Driver - New Entry Food Hub

The New Entry Food Hub is looking for a full-time (up to 40 hours/week Monday-Thursday) driver for June-November; hourly wage is $22- $25/hour.
The Delivery Driver position is responsible for packing produce and ensuring timely produce deliveries to our New Entry Food Hub customers, ranging from schools, food pantries, senior food access partners, and wholesale accounts. Responsibility

Identify potential farmsites in collaboration with prospective farmers, neighborhood residents/associations, and Boston Farms staff

Co-chair the Acquisition & Development Committee of our board with a board member to promote the acquisition and development of farmsites throughout our services areas by co-leading the community input process on major development projects; streamlining design acquisition and development processes, and originating and co-sponsoring community charrettes as needed.

Outreach to and work with neighborhood associations to determine and integrate desired outcomes

Conduct the legal, governmental, and community engagement processes of site acquisition

Manage the development of farmsites, including designing in accordance with zoning and building regulations, development and management of project budgets, hiring and managing of contractors

Launch, maintain, and co-design farm demonstration site

Manage contractors to conduct site maintenance (e.g. snow removal, fence repairs, perimeter weeding), including cost estimating, vendor bidding and oversight, and lessee billings

Open and close sites at the start & end of the season, and ensure sites are visually appealing

Manage recurring bills and expenses (e.g. water, electricity, property taxes)

Maintain property insurance and ensure sites meet safety and liability standards

Urban Farmer Educator

● Garden Management: Responsible for the crop planning, planting, maintenance, and harvesting at a variety of raised-bed gardens throughout Boston and the surrounding areas according to GCG's horticultural practices. These sites will primarily be school gardens and youth clubs. Farmer Educators work with our Installations team to maintain onsite infrastructure.
• Education and Programming: Plan and lead one-on-one and group garden education programs primarily for student’s pre-K through grade 12. Programs may also include senior assisted living communities, special education and youth clubs.
● Customer Service: Represent GCG on-site and handle communications with clients and participants.
● Communication: Check schedule multiple times daily using Google Calendar, document completed and future tasks in Zoho CRM at each site visit. Communicate additional site needs and customer feedback as needed for continual internal improvement. Be able to use Dropbox and a variety of programs for lesson planning.
● Transportation: We require a driver’s license and clean driving record, since driving between multiple sites a day using a company vehicle allows us to have the greatest impact and reach. Following a conditional offer of employment, GCG may require a motor vehicle record check on all final candidates.
