Experience Camps are free one-week camps for boys and girls who have experienced the death of a parent, sibling or primary caregiver. We provide a safe environment where kids can explore their grief, break the isolation they may feel with their non-camp peers, and have a whole lot of fun.

Experience Camps for Grieving Children The Outreach Coordinator plays a key role in developing and nurturing partnerships with local grassroots organizations throughout the Capital Region (DC, MD, VA) to support camper... and volunteer recruitment for Experience Camps’ newest camp location in Maryland. The Outreach Coordinator is a strong, authentic relationship builder who represents the organization locally and builds trust with community partners. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated self-starter and relationship-builder who is excited about making connections and engaging local partners. This is a part-time position that is not eligible for benefits.
Responsibilities Alongside the Regional Program Manager, develop and maintain partnerships with local referral organizations including, schools, community centers, non-profit organizations, and religious organizations serving low income communities. Outreach activities include presentations to partners, phone calls, mass and tailored email messages, and other communication channels. Research and identify relevant partnerships that will lead to long term recruitment relationships. Track and report on outreach activity. Follow up with referral partners to ensure they have all necessary recruitment materials. A significant portion of this role will be focused on building and sustaining relationships with organizations that assist in understanding and building trust with campers and volunteers of color.
Expectations This is a part-time position, 10-15 hours per week, from November 15, 2022-March 31, 2023, with the opportunity to extend depending on project success and need. Paid role, $25 per hour Must live in the Capital Region with ability to travel to meetings throughout the region during the week.
