Camper apps open for free grief camp for kids (not a paid job)
Experience Camps for Grieving Children
Applications are officially open as we launch our newest free camp for grieving kids (our sixth National camp). Coming to Maryland this August 15-20, 2023. Open to kids across the DMV.

Camp is completely free including buses to camp. Travel scholarships available to get to bus stop.

Experience Camps are free one-week camps for boys and girls who have experienced the death of a parent, sibling or primary caregiver. We provide a safe environment where kids can explore their grief, break the isolation they may feel with their non-camp peers, and have a whole lot of fun.

Part Time: Community Outreach Coordinator
Experience Camps for Grieving Children
The Outreach Coordinator plays a key role in developing and nurturing partnerships with local grassroots organizations throughout the Capital Region (DC, MD, VA) to support camper and volunteer recruitment for Experience Camps’ newest camp location in Maryland. The Outreach Coordinator is a strong, authentic relationship builder who represents the organization locally and builds trust with community partners. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated self-starter and relationship-builder who is excited about making connections and engaging local partners. This is a part-time position that is not eligible for benefits.

Responsibilities
Alongside the Regional Program Manager, develop and maintain partnerships with local referral organizations including, schools, community centers, non-profit organizations, and religious organizations serving low income communities.
Outreach activities include presentations to partners, phone calls, mass and tailored email messages, and other communication channels.
Research and identify relevant partnerships that will lead to long term recruitment relationships.
Track and report on outreach activity.
Follow up with referral partners to ensure they have all necessary recruitment materials.
A significant portion of this role will be focused on building and sustaining relationships with organizations that assist in understanding and building trust with campers and volunteers of color.

Expectations
This is a part-time position, 10-15 hours per week, from November 15, 2022-March 31, 2023, with the opportunity to extend depending on project success and need.
Paid role, $25 per hour
Must live in the Capital Region with ability to travel to meetings throughout the region during the week.

MD High School Program Coordinator
Asian American LEAD
AALEAD is seeking a full time Maryland High School (MD HS) Program Coordinator to join a dynamic and committed team providing new opportunities for low-income and underserved Asian American and Pacific Islander youth. The MD HS Program Coordinator will develop curriculum and implement afterschool programming, weekend field trips and events, and summer programming focused on helping youth grow in AALEAD’s three outcome areas: Educational Empowerment, Leadership, and Identity. The ideal candidate for this position will possess a passion for positive youth development and working directly with young people, be skilled in building successful relationships, and have strong time management skills. They will be a team-player and independent problem solver. This position reports to the AALEAD office in Rockville, MD with daily travel to programs.
