Julie's Family Learning Program
Julie’s is seeking a Coordinator of Family Development Services to lead and manage this area of its programming. Reporting to the Executive Director and working in collaboration with the Coordinator of Adult Basic Education, Childcare Services Coordinator, and a strong team of administrators and educators, the Family Development Services Coordinator will ensure that Julie’s provides a welcoming, inclusive space where each participant can develop an individualized, comprehensive plan to overcome barriers and achieve their dreams. To maintain close contact with adult learners and better understand the needs of program participants, this position incorporates both classroom instruction in life management skills and coordination and leadership responsibilities.

The ideal candidate for this position will bring teaching and leadership experience working with adult learners to provide personal and family support in a culturally diverse, urban environment. The coordinator will work collaboratively and embrace a “relational” model that is non-judgmental and unconditional in its care for participants.

ESOL I Instructor-Evening (Virtual)

Overview: This position is for 18 hours a week at $25-$27/hr. depending on experience starting April 25, 2022 until June 30, 2022, approximately. Direct teaching hours are Tuesday-Thursday 6p.m.-9p.m., fully virtual on Zoom, teaching off-site. This position is open until filled.
The breakdown of the position is as follows: direct teaching 9 hours a week and the remaining 9 hours for hours for preparation, orientation, intake, assessment, and student support.
Fridays are for quarterly all-staff meetings, virtual for the time being. Holidays are paid according to MUA’s calendar. The rest of the schedule is subject to negotiation. Does not include health benefits. There is no personal time off during the probation period.

Employment Prep Program (Comprehensive Integrated Employment Services/CIES) provides DTA eligible clients with short-term training to improve opportunities for job placement leading to self-sufficiency. Based on individual needs, training includes: Job Readiness Skills, Computer/Clerical Skills Courses; Customer Service Skills/National Retail Federation Certification; ServSafe Food Handler Skills/Certification; Adult Basic Education, High School Equivalency Test (HiSET/GED) Prep; English for Speakers of Other Languages; and Financial Literacy Skills. The program is augmented by counseling/case management and job development/placement/follow-up support. ABE STEM Teacher and Technology Coordinator
Julie's Family Learning Program
The ABE STEM Teacher will provide group instruction of math, science (all levels) and computer skills to adult learners. The teacher must maintain student assessment information (both instructor-designed and standardized) to monitor student progress during the year. The STEM teacher will provide in-person instruction as well as online resources for some students. The instructor will collaborate with other Family Development Services staff to offer integrated program offerings that are responsive to Julie’s learners’ needs and goals. The Technology Coordinator will assist with maintaining the hardware in the technology lab and troubleshooting basic issues in the building. The coordinator will also reach out to our IT support when issues are more complicated.
