Candidate must have a skill set to develop a positive classroom environment with K - 3rd grade students in a manner that allows students to understand classroom expectations and appropriate behaviors. Artistic Director - Rackham Choir
Rackham Choir Looking for artistic director to: - Provide visionary leadership for the ensemble - Search & select a wide, diverse, & varied repertoire - Program concerts - D... evelop collaborations - Conduct rehearsals & concerts - Promote excellence in the musical training & artistic development of Rackham Choor members - Lead by example in regard to professionalism, punctuality, preparation, & positive attitude - Assist in hiring accompanists - Hold auditions for new members - Identify & contract soloists & instrumentalists as needed - Attend Rackham Board meetings as an Ex-Officio member - Interact with community members & donors - Support & supervise high school vocal interns’ participation in Rackham Choir - Promote healthy vocal production in singers of diverse ages, experiences, & technical/musical development
Minimum Qualifications: - Five years experience in choral conducting - Bachelor’s degree in music (e.g. applied music voice or instrumental, music education) - Diagnostic skills in listening and looking for vocal problems & devising effective solutions - Familiarity with a diverse repertoire of choral music
Preferred Qualifications: - Graduate degree in music - Instrumental conducting experience - Experience in conducting singers with advanced skill levels - Proficiency in accompanying singers on the piano
