A demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and successfully with students, parents, staff and the community.
Candidate must have a skill set to develop a positive classroom environment with K - 3rd grade students in a manner that allows students to understand classroom expectations and appropriate behaviors. Having knowledge of the PBIS model and Restorative Practices for discipline preferred.
Successful candidate will be required to successfully complete all district hiring requirements prior to beginning employment.

Looking for artistic director to:
- Provide visionary leadership for the ensemble
- Search & select a wide, diverse, & varied repertoire
- Program concerts
- Develop collaborations
- Conduct rehearsals & concerts
- Promote excellence in the musical training & artistic development of Rackham Choor members
- Lead by example in regard to professionalism, punctuality, preparation, & positive attitude
- Assist in hiring accompanists
- Hold auditions for new members
- Identify & contract soloists & instrumentalists as needed
- Attend Rackham Board meetings as an Ex-Officio member
- Interact with community members & donors
- Support & supervise high school vocal interns’ participation in Rackham Choir
- Promote healthy vocal production in singers of diverse ages, experiences, & technical/musical development

Minimum Qualifications:
- Five years experience in choral conducting
- Bachelor’s degree in music (e.g. applied music voice or instrumental, music education)
- Diagnostic skills in listening and looking for vocal problems & devising effective solutions
- Familiarity with a diverse repertoire of choral music

Preferred Qualifications:
- Graduate degree in music
- Instrumental conducting experience
- Experience in conducting singers with advanced skill levels
- Proficiency in accompanying singers on the piano
