Associate Project Manager/Land Use Planner
Mid Willamettte Valley Council of Government
The Mid-Willamette Valley Council of Governments (MWVCOG) is seeking an Associate Project Manager/Land Use Planner. This position performs advanced land use planning work for member governments in Marion, Polk and Yamhill counties on both current and long-range projects. In addition, this position provides technical support on a variety of community development projects such as grant and loan applications for public infrastructure improvements, administration of federal and state grants, staffing special regional committees, and economic development initiatives. Provide technical support to a variety of other community development projects such as grant and loan applications for public infrastructure improvements, administration of federal and state grants, staffing special regional committees, and economic development initiatives. This will include grant research, writing and award management, program/project management, as well as coalition creation and facilitation. This allows COG to meet the priority needs of the region, organization, department, member governments and ensure the orderly growth of local and regional resources and capacities. Economic Development Planner
Headwaters Regional Development Commission
This position is included in the Development Planner Classification. Under the general direction of the Executive Director, the employee in this class is responsible for the management activities of the economic development program. Work entails extensive contact with federal, state and local officials and businesses. Work is varied and complex, and considerable latitude exists for individual initiative.
Kinds of Duties:
· Be a part of a staff team that provides support to a non-profit corporation, the Headwaters Regional Finance Corporation, including assistance in arranging meetings and agendas, and preparing financial and other reports.
· Lead in the preparation of EDA applications and reports including the Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS) and applications and progress reports related to the district planning grant.
· Coordinate with other economic development organizations in the Region and State to maximize the use of available resources and avoid duplication.
· Complete contractual obligations of the HRDC related to the economic development program.
· Make economic statistics, census material and other information available to developers and decision makers.
· Assist in or write special reports and plans on leading issues and/or opportunities in the Region.
· Develop planning proposals and strategies, as well as actual grant applications, to assist various organizations in obtaining funds.
· Provide technical assistance to local units of government and citizens groups by identifying and coordinating programs, in writing grant proposals, and in interpreting pertinent State and Federal regulations.
· Responsible for the presentation of planning efforts to public officials and private citizens groups.
· Designs, studies, evaluates and prepares plans and reports on the physical, social or economic needs of the region.

Senior Project Manager, Grant Services
Ohio University
The position works closely with the Mayors' Partnership for Progress (MPP) Executive Director and team members to identify, develop, and implement appropriate grant services support and training in order to build capacity at the local level and promote economic prosperity for the region. 
The MPP is a group of Mayors and City Managers from 19 counties in southeast Ohio. Ohio University's Voinovich School has a MOU (which has been in place for 26 years) with the MPP to provide technical assistance, capacity building, and research for the members.
