Associate Energy Engineer - Smart Infrastructure

Assists sales in identification and qualification of potential Energy Services o... pportunities. Conducts analysis of building energy performance through utility bill data. Supports assessments of customer building performance through analysis of information obtained from automation system. Conducts facility site visits to understand building function, operations, and areas for improvement. Effectively communicates findings for operational and efficiency improvements to internal and external stakeholders. Supports the development of preliminary and final energy services proposals. Participates in client meetings and presentations. Supports development efforts concerning recommended measures, including scope of work descriptions, sequences of operation, savings potential, and cost estimates. Performs energy calculations (such as weather-based BIN calculations). Qualifications:
· BS or MS in Engineering or applicable degree.
· Certifications: Have or ability to obtain CEM and PE/EIT preferred.
· Basic knowledge of HVAC principles and design fundamentals.
· Familiarity with standard ASHRAE energy calculations.
· Industry experience; 1+ years preferred
· Experience working within a team environment.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office suite programs. Ability to learn functionality of Siemens automation software products.

The Energy Engineer will work with the engineering, sales, and operations teams to identify, develop, design, and execute energy efficiency improvement projects for our customers.... Energy Engineers create scopes of work for projects that can be quantified, priced, and presented to various customers across the United States. Energy Engineers also develop engineering design packages as deliverables to support projects. Travel is required as needed to survey facilities for conservation opportunities. Data collection methods are employed onsite and compiled for proposal generation. A home office is required for backend proposal and design work. The Energy Engineer is also responsible for modeling budgeted costs and savings impacts. The role at times also requires accessing spaces that will require some physical fitness. The Energy Engineer will report to SMI’s Director of Engineering.

- At least 3 years of relationship sales experience - Experience in identifying leads, closing sales, and working with a project development team

The core components of success are (i.e. must haves):
- At least 10 years of demonstrated success in Project Management or Project Engineering in the construction industry of projects in excess of $5MM - Active Driver’s License
