Oversee student and volunteer retention, attendance tracking and program assessments at specific class sites.

Supervise all instructors and volunteers.
Monitor student attendance and program performance.

Policy Manager--Detention and Deportation

The Detention and Deportation (D+D) Policy Manager is responsible for spearheading CIPC’s efforts to end unjust criminalization, detentions and deportations on the local, state, and federal levels. The D+D Manager works in close partnership with the other Policy teams as well as the Government Affairs, Organizing, and Communications departments to guide development of the detention and deportation portfolio at CIPC.

The D+D Manager leads our detention and deportation work through tracking proposed legislation and regulatory developments, and monitoring implementation of legislation and programs that impact immigrants in California. The D+D Manager is also responsible for tracking and monitoring local and regional entanglements between law enforcement agencies and federal immigration authorities, and developing CIPC’s strategies to effectively push back on the entanglements. The D+D Manager develops and manages diverse coalitions statewide. The D+D Manager will also explore and recommend areas of work in line with CIPC’s focus on racial justice, economic justice, and power building.

This Policy Manager is part of CIPC’s leadership team and reports directly to the Policy Director.
