Attend 504 meetings as dyslexia representative.
Classroom Management and Organization
Create classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate for the physical, social, and emotional development of students.
Manage student behavior in accordance with Student Code of Conduct and student handbook.
Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials and facilities.
Assist in selecting books, equipment, and other instructional materials.
Compile, maintain, and file all reports, records, and other documents required.

The English teacher will be responsible for developing a productive atmosphere conducive to learning, collaborating effectively with colleagues, and teaching secondary level English classes, including those at advanced levels, to grades 9 through 12. Advanced literature classes are taught in the Socratic seminar style, which may also be used as appropriate in other classes. Students’ acquisition and application of technical skills and conventions of grammar, spelling and vocabulary are as important as literary analysis. The English teacher should model in his or her scholarship, lectures, and mentorship of students a commitment to rigorous thought with truth-seeking at the center, and to moral and interpersonal excellence.

Ascent Classical Academies seeks a headmaster to lead its new school in the Lowcountry area of South Carolina (Charleston metro area), opening Fall 2025. Havruta opened as a learning pod in Fall 2023 and currently serves students in Pre-K through early
elementary. Havruta is committed to academic excellence, Torah Judaism, and Hebrew fluency. Our pedagogy embraces classical education, language immersion, and individualized, mastery-based learning. We aim to equip students with a strong grasp of the foundational ideas, stories, and texts of Judaism and Western civilization, and we aspire to prepare our students to lead lives of purpose and civic leadership.
Our pre-K and Kindergarten program is almost fully Hebrew immersion, and our elementary students
continue to spend a large percentage of the day in Hebrew immersion classes.
POSITION
We are currently accepting applications for an Elementary Teacher (Grades K-2) for the English
language portion of our day. The teacher will utilize classical curriculum to teach math and ELA.

This position has the following responsibilities:
• Teach all English language subjects (math, reading, spelling, composition, and grammar) to approximately six kindergartners and a split class of approximately twelve 1st and 2nd graders.
• Develop and maintain a culture where students approach learning with joy, initiative, and respect for their teachers and classmates.
• Engage in professional development with the Lobel Center for Jewish Classical Education and other likeminded educational bodies.
