Upper Elementary Lead Teacher
Greensboro Montessori School
We seek a joyful, hard-working, student-centered, and compassionate Montessori educator to join our fourth- through sixth-grade Upper Elementary team. We seek someone who shares our belief that elementary students are filled with potential, ability, and capability; who understands that this age student is trying to create their identity on what sort of person they will be as they head into adolescence; who knows students need adults who listen to them and believe in them; who is willing to gracefully roll up their sleeves and do whatever is needed to help nurture and challenge the students. We seek someone who prides themselves on working hard, on loving and empowering our students, and in helping students build the foundation for future success at our School and throughout their lives.

Director of Upper School
Greensboro Montessori School
We seek a leader who believes in empowering faculty — in being a servant leader. We believe leadership is based on authenticity, humility, and connections, not power and control. We seek someone who is calm under pressure, who sees both the big picture and the hundreds of myriad details, who believes in our peace curriculum, and who finds joy in their work every day. We know open and regular communication on big and little details is critical for the program’s success. We also need a leader who has a systems-thinking approach to leading the program.

Junior High Teacher
Greensboro Montessori School
Our new teammate will be a 10-month, full-time teacher, working with the broader Upper School team and working closest with two other full-time Junior High teachers who focus on math and science. Growth potential towards a division leader is possible. While Montessori experience is not required, Montessori value alignment is. If not from Montessori, candidates should have taught adolescents in some kind of experiential, inquiry-based, project-based, constructivist, or similar student-centered learning approach. If not already Montessori credentialed, we will provide the required Montessori training and certification in upcoming summers.

In addition to teaching language arts and myriad project-based lessons, our new teammate will have an advisory role with students, help lead week-long overnight trips to our satellite campus (five weeks a year), help lead a five- to 10-day expedition out of the state or out of the country, and help lead our Junior High micro-economy program. Woven into our schedule and work cycle, our micro-economy is a chance for students to do hands-on work that is meaningful, economically productive, and integrates academic lessons. Right now, our food-producing gardens, our chickens, and our farm-to-fork program in our commercial-grade teaching kitchen form the basis of the micro-economy.
