Postdoctoral trainees will enter one of three academic research areas: 1) Molecular Toxicology and Carcinogenesis; 2) Inhalation Toxicology; or 3) Air pollution. The ability to examine adverse effects of chemical exposure in animal models, humans, and cell lines provides trainees with the opportunity to develop an integrated mechanistic and translational evaluation of pollutant action. Interdisciplinary collaboration is encouraged for postdoctoral research projects, so that trainees can gain maximum experience in several aspects of toxicology. Please note that the Traineeships are open to US CITIZENS OR PERMAMENT RESIDENTS ONLY. To apply, submit a full CV and a brief research interest statement (1 page) to Suresh.Cuddapah@nyumc.org or Terry.Gordon@nyumc.org.
The position is available from July 31, 2022, and compensation is at the NIH-recommended level which is based on years of experience.
Postdoctoral Associate - Computational Biology
Weill Cornell Medicine PostDoc position "Network-based machine learning approaches for drug repositioning in Alzheimer’s disease"
at the Englander Institute for Precision Medicine & Institute for Computational Biomedicine Weill Cornell Medicine, New York City
The Krumsiek lab at Weill Cornell Medicine is looking for a full-time postdoctoral researcher. The project will focus on novel methods for the identification of drug repositioning candidates in Alzheimer’s disease (AD), integrating data from GWAS, omics studies, pathway databases and drug screens. Drug repositioning is the application of approved drugs in a novel disease context, and has gained increasing attention as a promising alternative to identify novel treatment options for AD.
The position will be embedded in the highly translational, interdisciplinary Englander Institute of Precision Medicine, which brings together computational biologists and clinicians in a collaborative environment. Moreover, the PostDoc researcher will be part of a vibrant network of international metabolomics and Alzheimer’s disease experts from Duke University, The Jackson Laboratory, and Helmholtz Zentrum Munich, Germany.
Applicants should hold a PhD (or be within ~6 months of holding a PhD) in the area of computational biology, bioinformatics, systems biology, or a related area. The ideal candidate will have experience in statistical programming languages (R, Python etc.), the analysis of omics datasets, machine learning and data mining, as well as network algorithms.
