Music Therapist (full time)
Eastman Performing Arts Medicine
The Music Therapy Program at UR Medicine is looking for a highly motivated, creative Board-Certified Music Therapist to join our team to serve patients treated by the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Inpatient Acute Rehabilitation Program. This position will be responsible for providing high-quality function-based music therapy to adult patients, and occasionally pediatric patients, to assist in recovery from disabling conditions including spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury, acquired brain injury, stroke, or medically complex rehabilitation. The Music Therapist will utilize clinical interventions within individual and collaborative sessions, designed to induce brain plasticity and aid in neuro-recovery, to help improve or maintain function and improve overall health and quality of life.

Chair, Center for Music Therapy
The Music Settlement
The Chair of the Center for Music Therapy (MT Chair) of The Music Settlement (TMS) will be a visionary leader responsible for supervising and directing all aspects of the Center’s strategic vision, public visibility, and managerial operations. Reporting to the President & CEO, the MT Chair will be the senior staff member accountable for the Music Therapy Center and will energize and execute all components of the Center’s strategic plan that relate to the Center and music therapy. The Chair shall foster professional relationships with the Board, faculty, staff, parents, clients, partner organizations, foundations, government agencies, individual donors, and music therapy professional organizations. The Chair will demonstrate passion for the profession and TMS’ mission and the opportunity to bring strategic and visionary thinking, innovation, application of relevant research, and thought leadership to the practice of music therapy at TMS. The Chair shall project warmth and energy, confidence, and proven leadership, as well as compassion, while leading a well-respected, historic music therapy program focused on a clinical music therapy model and working with diverse populations. The Chair will also oversee best practices in hiring, training, mentoring, and supervising music therapists, interns, and practicum students while maximizing earned and contributed revenues.

Assistant Director and Lecturer

The Center for Arts in Medicine in the College of the Arts seeks an Assistant Center Director and Lecturer. The position will include administration in the capacity of assistant center director, teaching in the Center’s undergraduate and/or graduate programs, and research (broadly defined to include a range of forms of research, creative activity, or clinical practice in arts in health). The successful candidate will have extensive experience in, understanding of and a passion for administrative leadership in some combination of business, higher education, health, or community arts administration with an academic background that aligns with the Center’s work in arts in health and community engaged arts practice.

Research Coordinator, Music and Medicine (0.75 FTE)
Eastman Performing Arts Medicine
EPAM and the Music Therapy Program at UR Medicine are looking for a Research Coordinator for Music and Medicine to join our team. The successful candidate will be a Board-Certified Music Therapist with research experience. Equal effort will be shared between the Eastman School and UR Medicine. The Research Coordinator will:

(1) Serve as a coordinator for music and medicine-based studies at the Eastman School of Music. Under general guidance and with latitude to exercise independent judgment provide support Eastman faculty in bringing their research protocols through the IRB process. Coordinate participant enrollment and schedules in music and medicine research studies.

(2) Serve as a coordinator for music therapy-based studies at UR Medicine. Under general guidance and with latitude to exercise independent judgment develop music therapy-based studies, coordinate patient enrollment, schedules, and care in clinical research studies for the music therapy program. Plan, implement, coordinate, and, at times, administer the intervention for patients and their families enrolled in study protocols.

(3) Maintain a working knowledge of clinical trial coordination by reviewing research literature, attending pertinent meetings and seminars, participate in the preparation of study documents and regulatory requirements. Complete regulatory requirements and develop study protocols, assessments.
