This is beginner level GIS, which includes a variety of technical and mapping duties related to the development, and maintenance of the GIS mapping systems as well as the maintenance of databases and applications for the GIS Department; performs routine and complex technical tasks to ensure GIS data is current and accurate; responds to GIS related requests and queries; performs related work as assigned.

Essential Job functions:
Respond to client service requests, execute appropriate solutions and document appropriately. Review Issue Tracker service call inventory and resolve outstanding service calls. Install and maintain hardware/software systems for network appliance, VoIP, computer workstations, printer and fax. Maintain systems including Microsoft Windows 7/10, Microsoft Office Suite and proprietary public safety software applications. Monitor and maintain MSAG and ALI data in the PSAP ALI DBMS databases. Receive, quality check and record site address data submitted. Maintain site address data. Maintain and publish on-premise CAD GIS data using ESRI/ARC GIS software tools.
Education and Experience:
High school diploma. Related Associates Degree or two-year technical degree required. Related Bachelor’s Degree preferred. A+/Network + certifications preferred. Minimum two years’ work experience as an electronics Technician or network technician required. Minimum one-year work experience in graphical information system technology (GIS technician or other) required. Working knowledge of ESRI ArcMap 9.x or later or ArcGIS Pro required. Experience in radio communications technology preferred.

Hardware and software project planning and scheduling, server and client workstation maintenance ton include hardware, operating systems, applications and security. Systems analysis, design and application coordination of Public Safety systems for TCP/IP, UDP, RoIP and VoIP networks. Systems administration functions, maintenance of security for all systems, author and maintain all network infrastructure documentation, RFI/RFP preparation and proposals. Responsible for supervising the GIS/IT Technician and maintaining GIS/MSAG systems.
Education and Experience:
BS/BA or higher degree in Computer Science, Engineering or other related field. Network+, A+, Microsoft MSCE or other certificates desired. Formal training in VMWare, Hyper-V, Nutanix Acropolis, Python, PowerShell, GIS principles, ESRI 9.x/10.x, ARC desktop, SQL, Microsoft Server and Exchange Server, Microsoft SQL Server, XML, HTML/CSS, Java/Java script and VB script desirable. Five+ years’ experience in information technology systems administration, software systems deployment and support, network design and management, network security. Three+ years’ experience with hyperconverged systems and virtual server environments, administration of terminal server environment, supervisory skills.
