- GIS and i-Tree analysis of urban forests and natural resources, tree inventories; risk tree Assessments and tree appraisals
- Vegetation and natural resource surveys
- Green infrastructure and stormwater consulting projects
- Software solutions, and grant funding assistance for municipalities and other clients.
Marketing Collaboration with other DRG Business units, Davey offices, the Institute, and allied non-profit, industry, and educational partners.
Occasionally supports project work, including fieldwork, data analysis, report writing, and leading a Team of experts for urban forestry and natural resource management related jobs.

Inventory Arborist - New York City Metro

DUTIES: Perform office and field-based forestry and arboricultural consulting work for municipal and private clients. Support clients with day-to-day forestry activities, including but not limited to: tree inventories, vegetation and natural resource surveys, management planning, tree risk assessment and tree appraisal, recommend tree maintenance activities, tree protection and preservation plans, set up tree planting programs, review and facilitate tree pruning or removal contracts, observe or support vegetation management operations, respond to citizen-initiated tree requests, provide grant assistance, support use of geographic information systems (GIS), implement software solutions, and write reports, letters, or memos in support of client needs. The majority of work in this position will take place in an outdoor or field environment throughout Western New York(75%+). Position requires travel, often out of town to support Davey Resource Group, Inc’s projects across the nation. Responsible for most aspects of project implementation including fieldwork, data analysis, report writing, project delivery, and related administrative tasks. Typical clients include local, state, tribal, and federal government agencies, educational institutions, cemeteries, zoos/arboretums, non-profit organizations, and commercial forms.

Restoration Project Manager - Western New York

Selected candidate will work collaboratively with our project developers, biologists, and other project managers. The position will require a working knowledge of and ability to coordinate stream/wetland restoration design, NEPA documentation, endangered species surveys, and management of a variety of projects that may include permitting, monitoring, and ecological restoration. The key focus of this position is to provide leadership and expertise on ecological and restoration projects for DRG’s expanding New York team.This includes reviewing proposals, project and crew management, developing approaches to ecosystem management and restoration, networking, and identifying new client relationships and project opportunities. Job responsibilities include:
- Optimize existing client relationships and diversify project experience in Western New York.
- Provide senior level technical expertise to clients and team in one or more of ecosystem restoration, wetland/stream permitting and design, or ecological surveys and assessments.
- Pursue work in public and private markets, manage client relationships, provide leadership in preparing bids and proposals, and perform administrative duties, as needed.
- Routine management of multiple projects at one time, preparing/reviewing/implementing work and construction plans, invoicing and labor tracking, performing final QA/QC of work performed, and supervision of subcontractors.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with co-workers and clients.
- Position involves marketing tasks, such as attending conferences/workshops and public speaking.
- Pursue speaking opportunities at conferences/workshops.
- Contribute to DRG’s safety-minded culture.
- Excellent native and invasive plant ID skills required.

Stormwater Maintenance Foreman
Heart of the City Neighborhoods
Executes the day-to-day operations for all Green Stormwater Infrastructure Maintenance (GSIM) and related activities assigned to the GSIM Fellows Crew, including the management/oversight of GSIM Fellow and their daily tasks. The Foreman plans, assigns, supervises, documents, and participates in the work of the GSIM Fellows Crew. The Foreman reports to the Director of Environmental Stewardship.
