All children are diagnosed with autism and range in age from two to twelve years. The therapy setting is the child's home, child-care setting, other community setting, or Crossroads Clinic. Although Behavior Technicians are working independently in the field, there is frequent supervision by a masters-level supervisor. Candidates would be assigned a client/caseload depending on their availability and the availability of the client. All training for this position is provided by Crossroads Center for Children. The Arc Westchester offers a wide spectrum of programs (e.g., Residential, Day Services, Respite) that are tailored to best meet the needs of an individual. Within our Residential Department, we support adults with IDD in residences ranging from highly staffed homes that are supervised 24 hours per day, shared-living homes, and supportive living situations where staff may only provide some assistance around 15 to 20 hours per week.
We are seeking a Behavior Specialist to join our residential team and we are able to provide on-site supervision to applicants who are pursuing their BCBA! The Arc Westchester is a BACB Approved Continuing Education Provider and is able to provide free CEUs to active employees.
Job Responsibilities: • Complete functional behavior assessments • Develop and oversee implementation of person-centered behavioral support plans in assigned residential programs • Review, analyze, and summarize behavioral data to ensure interventions are effective • Participate in inter-disciplinary team meetings • Provide training to employees in the areas of applied behavior analysis • Support and implement The Arc Westchester’s strategic initiatives as they relate to the enhancement of our behavioral services
