The CD is responsible for directing and overseeing the daily activities of camp, supervising staff, managing enrollment and parent communications, and fostering a safe and fun camp environment. The CD is also responsible for inventory, licensure/inspection, camp management software, staff training, gathering parent/staff feedback, and setting up/breaking down all camp spaces. SummerQuest is set at the magnificent Crane Estate in Ipswich, MA, a property of The Trustees. The Estate sprawls over 2,100 acres of dunes, barrier beach, tidepools, pine forests, salt marsh, and grassy fields. We strive to instill the values of environmental education and land stewardship in our campers, while having fun exploring these varied environments. A variety of families attend camp from the North Shore area, and we work with community organizations to help broaden our constituency. Each week at SummerQuest is based around a different “quest” theme, from marine mania to a week of wizarding to survival skills on a deserted island.
