Recruitment and Classification/Compensation Manager

The Recruitment and Classification/Compensation Manager provides leadership and guidance in: all aspects of recruitment, including executive search assistance, furthering Oregon Tech’s affirmative action goals, and developing recruitment strategies to attract diverse and highly qualified applicants; conducting classification and compensation reviews for classified and unclassified staff, including pay equity analyses; onboarding and orientation; staff training and development; and workforce analysis and assessments. The Recruitment and Classification/Compensation Manager must possess knowledge, skills, and abilities not only to perform these tasks, but to assist in innovating and improving Oregon Tech’s policies, processes, and strategies in these areas.

The Recruitment and Classification/Compensation Manager serves as a skilled, experienced, human resource professional performing professional human resource duties. The Recruitment and Classification/Compensation Manager is responsible for resolving complex or difficult human resource issues. The Recruitment and Classification/Compensation Manager must be viewed as a trusted, fair, and responsive partner and collaborator for all Oregon Tech supervisors. The Recruitment and Classification/Compensation Manager plans and carries out work independently and with minimum supervision, utilizing knowledge of applicable laws, policies, and regulations. The Recruitment and Classification/Compensation Manager is responsible for prioritizing and managing issues within designated area of responsibility and will also develop and provide formal training in their areas of expertise.

The Recruitment and Classification/Compensation Manager is responsible for managing work and project schedules to meet objectives and assignments. This position is responsible for formulating recommendations for actions related to those assignments and may establish schedules for activities of self and other department staff.

Human Resources Assistant

Recruitment Specialist

The purpose of this position is to provide critical and confidential human resources support to all units supported by Finance and Administration Shared Services. This position will focus specifically on the coordination of staff recruitments, researching and analyzing employment practices, facilitating meetings, explaining policies and procedures, and assisting in the development of HR programs and services. The Recruitment Specialist may also provide administrative support to the day-to-day operations of the FASS-HR Unit.

Minimum Requirements
• Two years of experience as an administrative specialist or executive support specialist which included administrative support for a project, program, or operation. Administrative support includes those duties beyond clerical/secretarial such as: interpretation of laws, rules, and regulations; administrative data collection and analysis; and evaluation of projects, processes, and operations;
OR
• An equivalent combination of training and experience.

One year of post-secondary education may be substituted for up to one year of experience.

Payroll Technician
Portland State University
This position is responsible for assisting with the setup of mandatory and voluntary deductions into the HRIS system and for assisting with Non-Resident Alien taxation, including audits, system corrections and adjustments. In addition this position provides support to the payroll processing functions within Human Resources and will answer customer questions in the CRM, issue basic manual checks and assist with the monthly payroll.
