100-Ton Boat Captain
Sea Engineering, Inc. Job Summary: Sea Engineering, Inc., a local ocean engineering, commercial diving and marine construction company is seeking an experienced Captain to be responsible for vessels... from 17 to 84 feet, including vessel operation and maintenance. Candidate should be interested in expanding their knowledge with mechanics and be interested working on a variety of vessels for a variety of difference projects including scientific research support, commercial diving operations and supporting waterfront construction.
Supervisory Responsibilities: Position will be responsible for overseeing safe vessel operations with clients and crews and directly manage vessel(s) deckhands. Must be detail oriented, able to prioritize and delegate tasks and have the ability to maintain vessels for operations.
Duties/Responsibilities: · Safely operate vessels in Hawaiian waters · Operate vessel systems including anchor winches, deck cranes and A-frames. · Maintain vessels and vessel equipment including engines, winches, cranes, plumbing, electrical, etc · Maintain records of maintenance and repairs of vessels and equipment · Perform routine inspections of vessels and equipment · Ensure stringent safety requirements are constantly met at all times · Prepare vessel logs and other vessel administration
Required Qualifications/Abilities: · Minimum 5 years’ experience required with a preferred 2 years in Hawaiian waters preferred · 100-ton captains license or higher required · Current driver’s license and clean driving abstract · High school diploma or equivalent required · Lift 30lbs repetitively and kneel, stand, and climb. · Able to perform repetitive operations and able to concentrate on detail tasks while in heavy seas without getting seasick · Must be able to acquire Pearl Harbor and Kaneohe Marine Corps Base Pass access.
