CTRIs will teach between 20-25 participants in a mix of private, semi-private, and group therapeutic riding lessons each week.

Instructor Responsibilities:

Develop effective lesson plans and instruct clients each week to develop horsemanship skills

Keep daily attendance and notes in Salesforce for each participant according to ROCK procedures

Create goals for each participant and ensure communication with participant/ parents/caregiver/guardians regarding progress toward each goal at the end of each riding lesson

Engage participants in lessons to increase goal attainment, motivation, joy, and
Instruct in summer camps, volunteer training, and other programs/events throughout the year

Assist with schooling horses both mounted and unmounted, feeding and any other equine needs

Follow and uphold all PATH and ROCK-approved practices, policies, and procedures

Mentor instructors in training, interns, and volunteers, as needed

Consistently communicate with volunteers who are assisting during lessons to keep them engaged and involved in the lesson
Assist in lessons as needed as a sidewalker or horse handler

PATH International Member in good standing.
Experience and working knowledge of all aspects of a therapeutic/adaptive riding center.

Ability to work outdoors, for a prolonged period of time, in a variety of conditions.
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
Ability to lift or move objects up to 50 pounds.
Valid driver's license and ability to be insurable per Eagle Mount's parameters.
Reliable personal transportation.
Basic CPR/first-aid certification (can be provided upon hire if necessary).
Strong interpersonal, management, and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.

individuals with physical. cognitive and emotional disabilities since 1982.

Position Summary
The Lead Groom is entrusted with the care of one of the organization's most valuable assets,
our horses. Under the direction of the Chief Program Coordinator the Lead Groom maintains a
safe environment for volunteers, clients and horses while adhering to PATH standards. As such
is the main contact for all veterinary and farrier care and is responsible for maintaining
comprehensive records. Our organization is fortunate to have the help of volunteers to keep our
programs running, the barn manager provides education, supervision and enrichment
opportunities to our volunteers while they assist in the stable and with the horses.

Responsibilities
- Ensure general health of all horses daily
- Routine barn chores
- Preparing horses for lessons
- Administer medicals as needed and prescribed by the veterinarian
- Maintain/Order horse supplies
- Coordinate Horse Usage schedule with Chief Program Coordinator
- Maintain the highest level of service to our clients
- Maintain the highest level of support and appreciation for our volunteers
- Assist in maintaining the property ready for donor presentation at all times
- Support other members of organization with the implementation of all special events
- Support Program sessions as necessary

Requirements
- Requires excellent horsemanship skills and equine knowledge (10+ years)
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Degree in equine related field, preferred
- Ability to work evening, weekend and holiday hours as needed
- Bilingual, English / Spanish, a plus
- PATH Intl. Certified Therapeutic Riding Instructor (CTRI), a plus
