Oakland County (IT/CLEMIS) Responsible for the support, planning, development, and facilitation of the Oakland County 9-1-1 system. Sets policy and procedures for all Public Safety Answering Points (PSAP) a... cross Oakland County to ensure consistent support of the 9-1-1 System. Manages all wireless 9-1-1 routing for all PSAPs and carriers, including ESQK assignment, ESN assignments, default routing, and coordination of testing between carriers and Oakland PSAPs. Ensures the efficient 9-1-1 System functioning, mitigating service interruption, including smooth transition of backup system in the event of a system failure. Maintains knowledge of current and emerging 9-1-1 technology, legislative mandates, and tariffs. Leads and directs system-wide planning including routing of wireless calls to PSAPs, providing PSAP boundaries to service providers, coordinating third-party interfaces to the 9-1-1 system, and migration to evolving 9-1-1 standards. Serve as a liaison between the County and service suppliers, and state and federal regulatory agencies, including drafting and presenting legislative language for adoption. Leads regular meetings of the Public Safety Answering Place (PSAP) Coordinators Subcommittee and will assist the Chairperson of the PSAP Coordinator’s Subcommittee with quarterly reports for the CLEMIS Advisory Committee. Responsible for researching and recommending budget items and monitor related expenses for compliance with statutory allowable expenditures of 9-1-1 fees. Annually, this position requires approximately 30% travel within the State of Michigan and 5% out of state. Utilizes current Countywide and/or department specific software to complete assignments.
