Staff Counselor/Therapist

Primary responsibility for this position is provision of individual, couples, and group psychotherapy; with other responsibilities including trainee supervision, documentation, intake assessment, daytime crisis intervention, campus outreach, and possible additional opportunities. This is an 11-month exempt staff position, with access to year around benefits (i.e. Medical insurance).
Housed within the Student Development sector, Lee University Counseling Center (LUCC) is a close-knit family of personnel including one psychologist (director), four LPCs, one MFT, one administrative assistant, contracted part-time psychiatric providers, and multiple part-time graduate trainees (typically four to six, mostly MA-level).
Lee University is a four-year private liberal arts university in Cleveland, TN. Total enrollment is approximately 5,000 at this faith-based institution of primarily undergraduate students with 7 areas of graduate study (including 3 MA-level counseling programs and a Ph.D. program in MFT). Cleveland, TN, is a city of approximately 44,000 residents with below-average cost of living, located less than 30 minutes northeast of Chattanooga in Southeast TN.

Staff Psychologist

Position: Staff Psychologist

Description:
Primary responsibility for this position is provision of individual, couples, and group psychotherapy; with other responsibilities including documentation, intake assessment, daytime crisis intervention, campus outreach, trainee supervision, and possible additional opportunities (e.g., assessment, teaching, committee participation, etc.). This is a 12-month exempt employee position, though annual office closure in July creates the experience of an 11-month position with 12-month benefits.

Minimum Qualifications:
• Doctorate degree (Clinical or Counseling Psychology)
• Eligible for Psychologist licensure in Tennessee (with Health Service Provider designation); licensure required within 1.5 years of date of hire
• At least one year of experience with university populations (pre-doctoral supervised experience is acceptable), including clinical and campus (outreach) programming experience
• Strong general therapy skills for a wide range of clinical presentations, with competence in utilizing or integrating a variety of treatment modalities
• Advanced levels of cultural and diversity competence, including but not limited to conceptualization and treatment of diverse students within the context of faith-based campus culture
• Professionalism in legal and ethical decision-making and behavior, self-management in documentation and policy compliance, and demonstration of capacity and fit for effective contribution to institutional and departmental mission

The Clinic Coordinator - LR is a split faculty/clinical administrative position whose primary function is providing strategic management and oversight of the JBU Community Counseling Clinic (CCC) - LR while teaching courses within the Department of Graduate Counseling (DGC). Compensation and Benefits…
Compensation: $45,000-48,000

The therapist will also:
1. Actively participate in multidisciplinary reviews and treatment team meetings as necessary

4. Track outcomes and contribute to data collection and grant reporting
5. Participate in peer review, community education, and outreach activities
6. Supervise volunteers and interns
7. Stay abreast of current research and best practices in trauma informed mental health
8. Contribute to a dynamic and collaborative work environment
9. Perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Director

Qualifications:
Master’s degree in behavioral health required (psychology, counseling, or social work)
Two years of experience working with abused children and /or families impacted by violence preferred
Strong interpersonal and engagement skills, listening, communication, and crisis management skills required
Ability to work with a multidisciplinary team with a willingness to appreciate different points of view a problem solve in a constructive manner
Strong written and verbal communication skills needed
Strong computer skills
Dependable transportation with car insurance
