Grants & Philanthropic Resources Librarian
Enoch Pratt Free Library
The Pratt Library is accepting applications for a Grants and Philanthropic Resources Librarian for the Business Science and Technology (BST) Department of Enoch Pratt Free Library which also serves as the State Library Resource Center (SLRC).

Under the direction of the managing supervisor of the Business Science and Technology Department and in coordination with the Deputy Chief of the State Library Resource Center, the Grants and Philanthropic Resources Librarian works with the Library Grants Collection (print & digital) developing outreach, training, programming and networking statewide.

The successful candidate will have experience in developing outreach services to the library community, an understanding of the basic needs of customers seeking grants related reference assistance, and comfort in developing and presenting training programs for the public and library staff statewide.

Librarian Supervisor I, (Branch Manager)

The Enoch Pratt Free Library’s Neighborhood Library Services Division (NLS) is in search of passionate and dedicated individuals to fill the position of Neighborhood Branch Manager (Librarian Supervisor I) at our Edmondson Ave and Herring Run locations.

Edmondson Ave. branch (EDM) is located in Edmondson Village and serves the Allendale and Rognel Heights communities. This vibrant, majority African-American neighborhood is a lively destination for teens, families, and seniors with a median household income of approximately $45,000. With approximately 6-8 branch team members, this community anchor has free outdoor wifi, community meeting rooms, social impact programs (Peer Recovery and Social Worker in the Library, etc.) as well as the traditional library resources (collections, programs, etc.)

Herring Run branch (HRR) is located adjacent to Erdman Shopping Center and serves the Belair-Edison community. The Herring Run branch has a history of strong community presence and a high level of trust with neighborhood residents. With a median income of approximately $50,000 and an 86% African-American community served by the branch has evolved and diversified, an increasing number of households have sought to build their own small, at-home businesses. HRR has free outdoor wifi, community meeting room, job and career resources, as well as the traditional library resources.


Enoch Pratt Free Library employees may be required to work in any branch in the library systems and can be moved from one branch to another as need dictates. This position does include traveling to branch locations and flexibility on work location is a must. Public service is a priority.

Graduate Political Science and International Studies Librarian--Salary Range $70,000-$75,000

The Graduate Political Science and International Studies Librarian will be the point person for research assistance and information literacy instruction in the graduate curriculum in SPA and SIS and will work in partnership with the International Studies Librarian and the Public Affairs Librarian to support faculty research in SPA and SIS. The Graduate Political Science and International Studies Librarian will work closely with the faculty and administration of SPA and SIS to ensure that the University Library is able to meet the research and pedagogical needs of their graduate programs and to increase awareness of library resources and services. This position provides high-level subject specific research assistance to SPA and SIS graduate students and faculty and participates in the baseline information literacy instruction for all students. The Graduate Political Science and International Studies Librarian creates appropriate online tools to support SPA and SIS graduate students. This position serves on library cross-functional teams and participates in decisions that affect the overall research materials collection. The Graduate Political Science and International Studies Librarian assists all relevant entities in self-studies and reaccreditation. The Graduate Political Science and International Studies Librarian consults regularly with SPA and SIS teaching faculty and administrators.

Assistant/Associate Professor
East Carolina University
The Department of Interdisciplinary Professions in the College of Education at East Carolina University is seeking one (1) full-time, tenure-track, nine-month faculty member in Library Science. The position is at the rank of Assistant/Associate Professor and begins August 2023. The MLS program at East Carolina University has three master’s degree concentrations: academic librarianship, public librarianship, and school librarianship. The teaching mode is primarily asynchronous online.

The candidate for the Assistant/Associate Professor position will teach graduate courses in a fully online format and will serve in additional, value-added capacities to the department through recruitment and retention initiatives, curriculum development and improvement, and accreditation/assessment efforts. The successful candidate will conduct research, teach, and advise students in our ALA-accredited master’s degree program. Program, department, college, university, and professional service is also expected.

The Associate Dean for Collections and Discovery Services provides leadership for the design and implementation of strategies for the acquisition, access, discovery, development, management and long-term stewardship of its collections, information resources, and discovery platforms. Additionally, this position works closely with the Dean and others to provide strategic leadership in leveraging consortial managed resources, e.g. Ex Libris Alma, Primo VE, Scholarworks, etc. The Associate Dean collaborates to ensure that students and faculty are connected to information critical to their research, teaching, and learning.

This is a full-time, management (MPP) position with a retreat option to a tenured faculty position in the University Library at a rank consistent with the successful candidate’s presentation of evidence of library service effectiveness, professional growth and development, and service to the library, University, and community. Anticipated salary range for this management position is between $118,000 - $125,500 per year.
