• Independently leading the development, direct service implementation, and evaluation of injury prevention and safety promotion initiatives locally and statewide.
• Managing, and budgeting for initiatives.
• Liaison to and collaborator with, community-based organizations, advisory groups, and government agencies.
• Collaboratively working with the injury prevention safety promotion team and managing at least one employee.
• Conducting qualitative and quantitative evaluation of projects and participating in research.
• Disseminating findings through oral presentations and written reports, to various audiences including funders, stakeholders, and the public.
• Grant writing, management, and reporting as part of a team.

Manager of Violence Intervention Services
Virginia Commonwealth University / Health System
Position Summary: This position serves as a manager for the Violence Programs’ staff. The Manager will be responsible for providing supervision of staff, supporting the development of Violence Intervention and Prevention services, monitoring process improvement and quality of case management services provided to patients, and supervision of training of medical professionals in the application of screening tools. This position also works with the Assistant Director on collaboration projects across other divisions and programs within VCU and the surrounding communities through partnership development and relationship building.
Minimum Hiring Standards:
Minimum a Bachelor’s Degree in a Human Services Related Field and 3-5 years experience working in the violence field, or some combination of education and experience
Minimum of 3 years managerial experience with direct reports
Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or commitment to do so as a staff member at VCU
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s Degree in a Human Services Related Field. Five years of experience working with victims of violence and intentional injury to include, Community Violence, Domestic and Intimate Partner Violence, Sexual Assault, and other Interpersonal Violenceh

Senior Manager
Virginia Commonwealth University / Health System
The Senior Manager of Violence Intervention Services provides program administration and oversight for multidisciplinary hospital-based violence prevention and intervention programs addressing community & intimate partner violence / sexual assault (IPV/SSA) among youth and adults from assessment to crisis intervention, advocacy, and counseling.
Oversees managers and staff of IVPP Violence prevention and intervention programs to include the Bridging the Gap Program, the Empower programs, and IVPP Counseling Teams. This position will also provide training and technical assistance to hospitals at the local, state and national level, including the development of training materials. Supports the various IVPP programs via policy & procedure development, establishing new and cultivating existing partnerships both internally and externally to VCU, directly supervising the violence prevention managers and teams, and provide technical training and assistance on Violence Program development to VCU Health Systems hospitals and community partners.
Required Education &Experience
Bachelor’s degree in healthcare related field, public health, or social work required
Minimum 5 years of related scientific/health care communication experience
Previous management experience required
Should be familiar with business operations and demonstrate excellent leadership skills with analytical thinking and innovation
Should be familiar with Injury and Violence Prevention and intervention programming at the local, state, and federal level
Strong leadership, interpersonal and communication skills to interact with people across all levels
Preferred Education & Experience
Master’s degree in a scientific, health care, public health, or communications field preferred

Duties
