Thanks,
Sandra

We are actively recruiting students for the Fall 2021 class of the Psychology PhD program at the University of Texas at San Antonio. The program was developed along the lines of NIH's basic social science research initiative and has a strong research and design focus. Potential students are urged to explore the research interests of our faculty which include:

- Studies of complex social issues such as domestic violence, substance use, family dynamics, child abuse, health disparities and LGBTQ and minority issues.

-Research designed to better measure and understand psychological processes ranging from anger to stress and belonging, to memory and learning and cognitive development.

-The exploration of health-related topics including PTSD, TBI, Neurological Disorders, Sleep and Military Health.

Students admitted to the program must have already completed a Masters’ Degree in a research focused field but can then complete this program in 3 years. A variety of funding sources are available to students. During the Covid-19 pandemic GRE scores are recommended, but not required for admissions consideration. Interested candidates who have not yet done graduate work are urged to consider our MS program as a first step.
