The Massage Therapist provides treatment to clients by using their hands to manipulate muscles and other soft tissues of the body. Through touch and pressure, the massage therapist works to improve the client’s overall wellness by relieving pain, soothing injuries, increasing relaxation and improving circulation. Prior to massage, the therapist guides the client through the service offering and helps the client choose the right treatments. Evaluates patient goals and develops a treatment plan of massage therapy interventions to fit the needs, abilities and medical history of pediatric patients. Provides treatments under the direction of the hospice physician and the hospice interdisciplinary team.

Hospice Field RN will see patients for symptom visits or change in condition, and complete new patient admissions when needed. Provides professional nursing care under assigned visits by Triage Nurse (phone) or LVN Scheduler for patients across the life span, (pediatrics, and adults) in patients’ homes or facilities according to established standards and practice.

Performs visits as needed and directed by the triage team.
Responds to requests for patient visits in a timely manner.
Independently assesses patient/family immediate care/symptom management needs.
Provides care and treatment as ordered.
Provides health care instruction to patients, caregivers and family members.

Provides appropriate follow-up to case managers and team members in regards to patient condition changes and needs.
Responsible for the direction of care provided by LVN and HA in accordance with patient’s plan of care.
Responsible for the supervision of services provided by the LVN and HA per TEH policy and regulatory requirements.
Maintains timely patient documentation using "point of care" electronic charting.
Keeps current with all organization and department policies and procedures.
Collaborates with physicians and supervisors for changes in orders and changes to the patient’s level of care, as needed.

The Resource RN supports the Admissions process (including Admissions RN/LVN staff, Hospital Liaison staff, and Access Center) to ensure timely scheduling and admissions with a high degree of quality. Facilitates improved access to hospice services, palliative care services, and aligned medical services through education and role modeling. Applies expert clinical judgment to ensure optimum quality of patient care and services, while complying with governmental and agency regulations. Able to quickly analyze complex situations and provide clinical guidance to staff. Supports agency standards and protocols through education and monitoring. The Resource RN can assume duties of Admission RN, Hospital Liaison RN and Resource RN positions as required to meet organizational needs. Provides on-call support as needed or as scheduled (on-call rotation).
