What are the challenges?

Establish modelling procedures for the conception and design of composite based components;

Support the design of components and structures made of composite materials (e.g., satellites structures made of carbon fibre reinforced polymer, protective equipment for combat vest);

Implement and calibrate constitutive models to capture the behaviour of composite materials, including damage;

Assess structural requirements through simulation using the finite element method (eg. static, dynamic and thermal loads);

Propose simulation models and strategies for virtual testing;

Define and manufacture, laboratory prototypes and specimens for design validation.

What we are looking for?

Master’s degree or PhD in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering;

More than 5 years of experience using the finite element method for structural analysis (Abaqus®, Ansys® preferred);

Experience in non-linear mutiphysical and dynamical analyses (impact);

Knowledge of composite materials and associated manufacturing processes;
