Senior Communications Manager
California Academy of Sciences
At this unique moment in time, we are looking for an experienced Senior Communications Manager to lead the Academy’s efforts to publicize visitation-focused offerings for one of the Bay Area’s largest cultural attractions and a world-leading scientific institution.

The Senior Communications Manager will help integrate the Academy’s new strategic vision—which seeks to deepen connections to the natural world—into our visitor experience by developing and driving thoughtful public relations and communications campaigns to promote new exhibits and planetarium shows, aquarium news, the Academy’s weekly NightLife and virtual NightSchool series, and more.

This role will also lead institutional communications efforts, working with a cross-functional group of communicators to ensure Academy news and key messages reach our various audiences in engaging and effective ways. Director of Policy Research
Center for Evidence-based Policy, Oregon Health & Science University
The Director of Policy Research is a member of the Center’s leadership team, providing leadership and oversight to the Center’s portfolio of policy research across multiple projects. This position will also lead a portfolio of state technical assistance efforts, and other projects as directed.

The Director of Policy Research works collaboratively with the Center’s two Research Directors to ensure a consistent approach to policy research, that all research is framed appropriately for policy maker audiences, and that research products include actionable state considerations. The position also works collaboratively with other policy-focused positions at the Center, including as one point of contact for current and prospective state customers in Center technical assistance projects and partnerships.

Research Manager

The Research Manager is responsible for overseeing the management of the Center’s research portfolio and supervision of the research coordinator. This tandem will manage and coordinate the work of all researchers and research teams who conduct reviews of the scientific literature, government policies, and data analyses on a broad range of healthcare topics. The Research Manager is also responsible for overseeing the schedules of the editorial and graphic design team at the Center. The DoSER program builds on AAAS's long-standing commitment to relate scientific knowledge and technological development to the purposes and concerns of society at large, with a focus on constructive engagement with the broadly religious public.

The Science for Seminaries project offers grants to a diverse group of seminaries so that they can integrate forefront science into their core curricula in order to help future religious leaders speak confidently about science. This position will work to support and strengthen the work of these grantees and help them connect with the resources of DoSER and AAAS at large. This position will also offer the opportunity to work with the entire DoSER program on a variety of pther projects.
What you'll do
-Be the point-of-contact for a large group of religious and scientific scholars through the Science for Seminaries project (https://www.ScienceforSeminaries.org), to include providing support for grant implementation and developing relationships with program grantees.
-Assess needs for previous, current, and future grantees.
-Support the implementation of current and future seminary grants.
-Work with team members to centralize and systematize evaluation tools for seminary grants.
-Implement best practices of analysis and evaluation for grant programs.

Minimum Qualifications
-Graduate degree in related field, either in the sciences or in theological education
-2-3 years relevant experience, demonstrating engagement with both science and religion
-Excellent written and oral communication
-Passion for fostering dialogue between scientific and religious communities
-Familiarity with contemporary software packages, particularly Microsoft Office
-Website development software skills and experience preferred (Wordpress, etc.)
-Familiarity with data organization and analysis (Excel, etc.)
